Pictures & Videos / Table Mesa From the 17 to Carefree
« Last post by FtrPro4x on Yesterday at 11:37:08 PM »
One of my older boys ( 17 ) and I decided to take the Frnty out this afternoon and ran Table Mesa from the 17 to Carefree for the trucks first wheeling trip since I've had it ( 1 week ).I used to have a 2001 Nissan Xterra with Shrocks front and rear so I knew the truck was capable but I was astonished at how well the truck did this evening. Approximately 1 mile west of the river crossing we met up with a gentleman and his wife with their sweet Jku. He was kind enough to share his knowledge and history of the trail. We split ways at the river where him and his wife had turned around as we continued the full length east before dropping back south into carefree. I could not be happier. The climb up the hill on the other side of the river was steep, rocky with a couple of decent ledges which then truck tackled with ease. We had tools, ( just in case ) compressor, etc. We never hit, scraped, got hung up or got stuck. Low range, in first proved itself handy and to minimize slippage. No issues at all. We did however run across a 3 foot rattler basking. I was able to scare him with a small rock. He did however flip a 180 and attempt to attack the rock before disappearing into the brush. Here's a few shots of the scenery and truck.

Would be nice to say I made it through but don’t want to hold back a group like that. Still up for everything else.
I talked to Celt (trail leader) he says you'll have no problem with the squeeze ,
it's the football field and a half of Heart Attack Hill that will PUCKER you.
