Toughest tire up there is the wrangler from seeing on other rigs.

The Ko2 is the best of both worlds less agressive but quiter on highway. Best all terrain out there. Duratrac is the cheapest mud terrain but classified as an all terrain.

A couple friends are running the KO2 and having nothing good to say about them. One buddy has had 5 sets between his Tacoma and his FJ100.

My father in law has the Duratrac on his JK and does a lot of crawling in them. He has had them for 3 years but I have seen some chunks of tires disappearing too.

How is the road noise now and when they were new?

They are basically still new (like 5k miles on them or something). They were loud, and will always be loud, they are a MT tire, but offroad capability is what I bought them for, and love them. Have had them for a year last February. It isn't my daily driver, so the tire noise is the least of my worries, I have my Subaru for that.

Not sure if you rock crawl but the Duratracs will be your mid tire.
Ko2s for less agressive
And the coopers for the best mt tire up there.

Each tire has there pros and cons to the driver so just pick one and you be the judge. Every tire is worse the older it gets so new just pick on how much is in your pocket.
I have ran 33" and 35" km2s and love them.
I have also ran nitto terra grapplers 33" but used so no good experience.

If you are new to tire choice just go with the duratracs.
Only tire I have not seen wheel up there are the falkens.
There is also general tire x3 MT that i have seen do good on everything for the price.

Since im due another set of 35s I been doing research on what my next tires will be also and may change to something entirely different so I can get my own opinion.
Only reason to go MTs is 3ply sidewall or you go throught some thick mud on the regular.

I was looking at those new Grapplers too. I was not sure if anyone has ran them or not.

I didnt vote on this thread, Just giving you my experience with my tires.

I have had my set of KO2s for over 55,000 miles((33s on my second gen.))  They have been a great tire for my needs.  They have been wheeled a lot, without any issues.   There isn't a lot road noise, and they ride nice at highway speeds.  Now that its time for a new set of tires, im most likely sticking with the KO2s.

***Edit
My brother has KO and KO2s on his Tacoma, and hasn't had any issues with them either. He has been using them for years.  Of course he doesn't really wheel his truck.

That is good to know. Looks like I am going to be going with the KO2. My coworker has a set, my former coworker has been through 5 sets, and with everyone's input I think I am going to go with them.

I have KO2's and like them.  Soooo much better than OEM Hankooks, which I shredded, literally, up by Smiley Rock.  These KO2's have 28K on them, have some chunks missing from the tread (expected - I'm not a rock crawler per se, but seem find plenty of rocks in my path).  I rotate them religiously every 5K.
