There use to be a YouTube channel HAM test prep, but it no longer seems to exist. Do you know of any other video based learning courses? I would like get this knocked out by EOY.

I wasn't aware those classes had disappeared.  I looked on youtube and found this guy https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fEWmiMotimY seems to do a good job of summarizing the basic ideas of the book.    Most importantly go through a practice test before taking the real thing, it'll give you an opportunity to find out what you missed.  I found one here.   Feel free to ask questions if you have trouble.  I also think it was helpful for me to just get a radio, program it, and listen in.  Once you have programmed a radio you probably have the majority of what the test is asking down.

Check the hamstudy.org site, it's really easy and so long as I visit it often, I remember more. There are lots of tests opportunities this month too. I'd like to get this done this month or next.

Good question to be asked in probably another thread, but I'm not sure. I do know it can come in handy with signal being an issue on cb sometimes.

I think there are 5 or so of us.  I know there are a lot of people interested and working towards it as well.  I see it as being advantageous for anyone who is offroading.  The HAM repeaters can act as a lifeline if the need ever arises.  Of course there are other options, gps transmitter or sat phone.  But a lot of the community is going HAM.
