Title: Rosie's X
Post by: Rosie on April 26, 2013, 04:51:17 PM
Forgot my thread got deleted after the crash last year. I'm Rosie, I like to drive off small cliffs and burn clutches and stuff.

2003 Xterra, silver, 4WD, 5 speed manual.

Mods:
PML
32" Hankook Dynapro MTs on Cragar Soft 8s
Xoskel Lightcage with 4 KC Daylighters

I have a CB radio and two skids still awaiting install. Soon.

Nothing new, but this fall I'm hoping for skids to finally be fixed and installed, sliders, DepHep rack, new front shocks.

Silver sucks, brown is a better color  ;D

Somebody I used to work with on base. He's willing to make others, but he has to have the vehicle there for the weekend. I dropped it off Saturday afternoon and it was done on Sunday evening. He lives in western Litchfield Park. If anybody's interested in work from him, lemme know. Very good price too!

I know, the green is almost blinding after constant brown dirt for 3 years. The altitude is definitely higher, it doesn't seem to mind it. The switchbacks here can be pretty crazy though, VERY high up with steep drop-offs. Gets your heart pounding a little bit. It's fun!

Where did you move to? Looks like Flagstaff from the picture but I don't remember any crazy switchbacks.

Thanks! Next immediate mods will be sliders and most likely rear tire carrier. Other than that, I'd like to build a drawer system for the back.

It's holding up great. Rust is definitely more of a problem here, though. I need to touch up some spots.

Everything steel rusts, even my powder coated stuff needs a new coat.  Time to get rid of that plastic thing!

Go for it! He still lives there for sure, I'm not sure how busy he is or anything though.

It looks a lot like the style of tube bumpers my co-worker makes, what was his name if you don't mind me asking?

Haha, yup I know Jimmy. He built a similar style bumper for his truck. He's talented at metal fabrication. It looks like the bumper is holding up well.

Small world! I'm guessing you mean for his Dakota? Yeah, when he made this one, he hadn't made a front bumper for his truck yet. It is holding up well. Give him my greetings if you talk to him soon.

I haven't used my Xterra much since before my deployment last year, so how about some new pics?

My front bumper really needs a fresh coat of paint. That's what happens when you leave it sitting for 6+ months, outside in the rain and snow! It's finally warming up enough to repaint soon.
