Title: WHPIVxterra's 2002 X
Post by: WHPIVxterra on August 11, 2013, 08:16:47 PM
So I don't have pics of the process of past mods done but I have a before and after of it now.

Here it is bone stock from back in Jan.

Here it is now

I have a few things I want to do still but can't right now.

finally go around to pulling out that damn headliner and pulling the crap off.  Instead of reupholstering it I decided I'm going to paint it the same color as my rig.

wicked porous stuff so it'll take a few coats haha

all painted and ready to go back in.  letting it air out so my car doesn't smell like paint.  It's a dark forest green.  tough to tell with the crappy pic.

I had one of those oil air fresheners explode in the heat and it ruined the plastic of the center console.  I took it all off and bedlined the bad boy!  It came out awesome!

here's a quick 'holy s***' moment.  Started hearing a rattle when I went over bumps on my front passenger side wheel well.  Checked it out and...

here is my Idler arm and brace and tie-rod on my passenger side...

I saw a set for free on the new x I think a while back, or it may have been my dodge forum, shackle or d ring isolators was the verbiage I saw being thrown around.  I will check the dodge forum to see if it was there.., bumper looks good, and the color is awesome, missing the ne fall yet?

we are transplants from coastal NJ and this time of year is tuna, striper season for me and baking season for my wife with all of the fall fruit and produce...oh and no 90 degree days....haha.  the isolators on the dodge forum were gone and it was only one not a pair.  I will keep my eyes peeled for you.

So was having some issues when turning sharp.  Was hearing a loud thunk and couldn't figure it out.  Then while up in Flag for the fat tire race, someone pointed out that one of the bushings on my front sway bar was jacked up.  So 8 bucks later and a shit load of blood sweat and beers, got the stubborn bastards off and new ones in.  Problem solved!

Yea, you could have saved you $6 and maybe some time, and just remove it.

I did some research and removing the front sway bar doesn't really give you all that much extra articulation and it puts extra stress on some other stuff.  plus it is my daily driver so safety first  :)

I have had mine off for 5months now. Yes there is a lil more body roll but it does make the ride smoother and does articulate much better. But to each there own options but glad you got it fixed. I also got mine fixed from that run a few weeks ago.

Thanks Pit! and the price tag was about 550 bucks.  The unique's are identical to the cragar soft 8's.  they actually didn't have any soft 8's in and those are what I wanted and he said he would give me the unique's for the same price as the soft 8's.

today I got my CB mounted! holy Hera that was a bitch running that coax cable under the carpets!
