Thats a good deal! I dont think its a true DepHep but probably one he made off the DepHep design himself. I paid much more than that for my DepHep, although it was painted, if you want/need one I would jump on this and Powder Coat or Bedline it or even rattle can it yourself.

Here is Heps: http://www.hepsdesigns.com/expertise.html

Yes this is similar to the dephep rack with a couple of different things.  I actually sold the one posted but I am probably going to put a couple more together.  IF anyone is interested please let me know.  Base price will be $150 but I can so some extra stuff for some additional costs.  The rack will be bare so you  will have to coat it how ever you desire.  Thanks for looking guys.

Here are some pics of the rack.  I unfortunately have to bump the price a little due to increase in cost of the metal and supplies.  I am now asking $200 for the basic rack.  I can do some additional mods for additional cost depending on what it is exactly.  If you have already placed an order with me the price has not changed from what we originally agreed upon.  Sorry to have to do this but I am needing to make a little money on these for my time invested.  Please feel free to PM me with any questions you might have.  Thank you again for looking.

No racks available for purchase at this moment. I do them by order. Just because there are some options some guys have wanted so I wait until I know what the buyer wants. I am working on a rack for fujimoto right now.

I picked mine up about a week ago. Its awesome, just what I wanted.

Took it home wiped it down primed and painted it and got installed within a few minutes after picking up some hardware to bolt it down.

Overall great product, and good guy to work with.

Are you still making these racks? I may be interested for a 1st get and have a couple of customization questions.

I just wanted to see if you would be able to integrate a mount for a hi-lift jack as well as a mount for a rear facing light bar. Plus the grating.

I recently had Whattha put together a rack for me.  While I was originally going to go with a DepHep style, I found a TheNewx member (Airmapper) who had put together something similar, but didn't sit on top of the nerf bars, rather it sat in between and mounted with some nice stylish exhaust hangers.  This solved the problem I had, in that I didn't want to drill into my nerf bars.

Whattha was very open to trying a new design and I think he did an amazing job, considering he only had pictures to work off of.  I'd highly recommend him if you need a rack!

Here's the result!

Note: I still need to do some u-bolt trimming and get some caps for the holes so it's sealed up.

I'd say, see stock roof rack limits, the drop in rack looks better built than the bars it attaches to.

Just finished this rack up for Pinchel.  First one I have done for a First Gen.

I forget. Did we discuss this fitting with a ladder at some point?

Hey all, sorry I have not been on the site much lately.  I did not notice all the traffic on this thread.

Pinchel- We did talk briefly about a ladder for your rig, I have not attempted on before so I will have to look at how they attach and go from there.

As for some of the other questions about the amount of weight they rack can handle.... it is a lot.  They are over engineered for what the factory bars would be able to hold.  I have loaded mine several times with a lot of gear and gone on road trips and never had an issue at all.  They are versatile and come in handy more often then you would think.  If anyone is interested I am still making them and am taking orders.  Now that the weather is going to start cooling down I will be gearing up with some other metal projects I have been hired to do but am willing to produce racks as often as I can.

Thanks for all of the positive posts, I am happy to hear everyone has been pleased with my product.

Cheers,
Nik (Whattha)

Quoting to ask the same. Also, you mentioned earlier that the price for the base rack went up to $200; is this still correct?

Yes I am still selling them.  Base Price is $200.  I will paint it for an additional $25.  Painting is pretty simple really. I can do it for you if that is what you want though.  Let me know what you are thinking.

Cheers.

It is hard mounted.  I drilled 4 holes in the large roof top tubes and bolt it right to those.  I have done one with a clamp mount.  It worked but to be honest, this roof rack is designed and built for the Xterra, I do not plan on ever taking it off and putting it on anything else.  We can work on options if you have other ideas though. Simple and secure method is to just drill holes and bolt it right up.

Some quick questions, what ga steel are you using?  How do we pick them up?  How much are they atm?  and lastly whats the weight time on them?

Thanks!
Title: Re: FS: Custom Lo Pro Roof Racks
Post by: Whattha(Nik) on April 12, 2017, 10:10:07 PM
The steel I use is .083 1" square. Plenty strong enough for a lot of gear and even to walk on.  Buyer will pick up the rack from me at my house in Mesa. Base price is $300 and can got up from there depending on customization. I do not have much for projects lined up at the moment so no real wait time to have it started. I do ask for $100 down to start the rack. I give a 6 week turnaround, only a couple have actually taken that long. I am guessing the weight to be around 60 pounds or so for the basic rack. I have not been able to officially weight one though. Hope this answers all your questions.

Thatsgr8 unfortunately at the moment I am having to put my metal work to the back burner.  Due to some unexpected events I will be tied up with some family stuff.  My parents were involved in a severe accident last week and I will be focussing on them for the next several months.  Once all this settles I will be open to looking at your ideas.  Thank you for your understanding and patience at this time.
