Title: DIY Sun Shade
Post by: pinchel (Rob) on July 28, 2015, 11:13:49 AM
Well I decided I should get a shade this time for Fat Tire so I re-purposed a Harbor Freight tarp. It isn't pretty but it is very functional. Total, it cost me under $15:

7 ft. 4 in. x 9 ft. 6 in. Blue All Purpose/Weather Resistant Tarp - $4.99
2 - 2'x2'x8' Wood - $1.97 each
1 - 1'x2'x8' Wood - .98
4 #12 1" Wood Screws - $1.18/8pack
4 Round Head Phillips 1/4" - ? They were in my tool box
6 - 1/4" Fender Washers - .12 each
Some scrap rope and two heavy duty stakes

Nice. I was thinking of doing something similar myself for this weekend. Nice to see it works out well.

The attachment to the Xterra needs tweaking.

Well done, I like the simplicity of the design.
