Title: Xterra meets horse on 65mph road - buy/swap tires, rims, shocks?
Post by: xterra07 on October 16, 2015, 06:49:59 AM
A wild horse totalled my 2007 Xterra in Wyoming during a head-on collision (he was at a wild horse convention in the middle of a winding 65mph road at night). The impact was at around 20mph after braking. Radiator and cooling system took the damage, hood crumbled but only one side quarter panel bent, 1 light survived, fog lamps didn't, hoses pushed back but engine didn't get hit. Battery was cracked open on top but worked for days (survived 30 mile tow, but not a 200 mile tow days later),  tires or rims weren't impacted. Passenger side front door opens just partly due to a bend in the quarter panel ahead.

Is anyone looking for 2 months old Wrangler Adventure tires, set of 4 (includes road side hazard warranty, free replacement, balancing/rotation for lifetime of tires), 4 ply P type, (including one matching brand new warranteed out one), rims... Billstein shocks (few months old, warranteed out)... front hubs (4 weeks old)... seats (driver side foam and cover replaced 6 weeks ago).... to swap for yours + cash -- if you do, there is too little time left.

The engine starts by the way, it turned off during impact. Engine would be for sale too to someone interested, I used Lucas oil stabilizer forever, primary and secondary timing chain sliders have been replaced, new water pump (if it survived the impact).

Have you had animal impact with or without a front bumper like Shrockworks? What happened?

The Xterra is in Salt Lake City, and without alternatives I am looking at letting the insurance company have it, unless someone shows interest in parts very soon... today. I had my stereo taken out and put into the new Xterra, and there isn't a reason for me to stay in SLC.

I'd be surprised if anyone is gonna pay shipping when they can get these parts closer. Good luck though.

If someone wanted the engine, and someone wanted the rims, tires, hubs, seats, something... I could have it towed to Phoenix and it could be taken apart then. I would just need to know about serious interest.

The insurance company would let me have the car for $2000 (they would pay that much less from their coverage to me). So if someone wanted to pay $1500 for the engine, and rest would add up to $1500+, then it could make sense.

While I am here still with the car (today) I can take photos, videos, Skype with whoever is interested to show and turn, etc.

This is a longshot, with a short timeframe, but it doesn't hurt to ask.
There are so many good parts inside, and the history is so long, and recent..... 26 pages printout from the dealer (Autonation Nissan, Gilbert and I-202) about all that was done when....... new hubs 1.5 months ago, Bilstein replaced under warranty 2-3 months ago, primary and secondary engine sliders ($1500 repair each, front engine has to be exposed, all labor... water pump was changed then too), new tensioners (2), belt (well the tensioner is likely damaged, belt too) things like that.

Doors are all good, even the door stoppers are new so the motion is smooth then when open, lock in place, close. Seats look great, headrests are new from 2015 because I don't like their bigger goofier look.

Additionally I am selling the stock 2015 stereo with rearview camera hookup, active Sirius XM, 2 knobs etc... that has nothing to do with the 2007 Xterra, but is still something available. Also the 2015 stock amp and subwoofer that go under the seats (dealer priced at $3840+, $600+ and $800+, I am selling those new parts at 1/4 price or less)

I hope its not too late. I'm interested in the locking M226 & R180 axles if they have the 3.36 ratio. Auto or stick? Located in Prescott.
