Title: Mod Day Dec 12th
Post by: Hammer (Avi) on November 15, 2015, 11:36:22 PM
Just in time for the Holidays, a chance to finally get that lift installed!
This will be a Mod Day/ Meet and Greet.  Welcome to anyone who would like to attend.  This mod day will be held at my house, starting at 10AM.
If you would like to attend and haven't been to my place just PM me for the location.

Please post up if you will be coming and what project you have.

If I can keep my hands away from my lift kit until then I'll bring that to mod day. It probably wouldn't be a bad idea to have some of you guys who have put these kits on around when I install it anyhow.

anyone got a code reader that'll reset the steering angle sensor?
If not I've got one more trick up my sleeve before I decide to hand the dealer my money
Regardless I may show up with the monster truck to give a hand to anybody who needs it..

I have the same issue setting off the VDC light.  You won't find anyone with this tool, it is a dealer only item, i don't think most mechanics even have access to it.

It can be reset, but have you tried just driving with it on yet? If it does come on, it'll usually shut off after a short time..

My VDC and my slip light are on
My ABLS system aka traction control  definitely are not working ironically my truck is not in limp mode because it has full power and I can easily light the tires up all the way down the street which I shouldn't be able to do according to the hours upon  hours of research that I've done any modern scan tool should be able to reset the steering angle sensor ..you know like one of those $250 ones that is the only reason why asked.  I have tried every other trick there is written on the Internet except for one that involves putting all four tires up on jackstands firing the truck up in four-wheel-drive  after having the battery disconnected for 24 hours and drive it perfectly straight under 10 mph for 10 minutes supposedly that will reset the steering angle sensor too..  i'm lazy and haven't done it yet  when I put my long travel kit on I had taken my truck to the dealer to have them reset the airbag light only to find out my spiral cable is broken they wanted $800 to fix it I laughed and left..  But not after giving them $100 to reset all my lights  after the broken arrow trip I rework my upper control arm again we all know that involves taking the steering arm link out my four-year-old again got inside my truck and turn the wheel slip light is been on ever sense.. I have wheeled the truck a few times and definitely know my traction control is not working.. I'll fix it eventually

Just curious, is the belly of the truck muddy? Spray it out really well.

Nope I keep the truck pretty clean and don't play in mud.
I know it's the steering angle sensor because my abs is working and there is no light. Plus I checked all the speed sensors just in case.. It happened after re installing my upper control arms. All the suspension is coming off this weekend anyway I was hoping to save my self the hassle from the dealer and a $100 bucks.. Lol the whole service department stops and half the dealer ship goes to look over my truck like its some rare find Datsun or something.. And then they like to remind me of all the stuff I know needs to be fixed that I haven't fixed yet.. Lol

scratch cb install, looks like on board air is the next project. I'm trying to get all the pieces together for it.

FYI for everyone 4wheelparts is having their grand reopening on that same day and have some good deals. If I can make it to the mod day I'll prob swing by 4wheelparts first then to hammers.

So what projects are on deck for the mod day? I think I'll be holding off on my OBA set up since I'll prob only be there for a little bit, and I still havent got all the fittings and everything.

I'll be there.  Helping hands and maybe an oil change if there is room.  I can do that later.  I also have a little neutral start safety switch to install.  No big glamorous big ticket items for sure.
