Sold the superchips cortex and ordered a scan gauge for the truck.  139.99 on Amazon, but if you go on thinkgeek.com and sign up for their newsletter you can save an additional 5 bucks!

Installed the ScanGauge II in my truck.  Took my Xoskel sliders to Fangar's (thanks John, and if you doubt how well these sliders perform just ask John what he saw when we took mine off today!) to get them trimmed back for the TS, and lubed up my rear leaks they were squeaking and making funny noises bad.

Oh man...Today was productive... I painted my entire roof rack flat black. I got HID's for my headlights and fogs. Painted some more of the trim plastics black. Cut a chickenwire grill piece and painted it black for lower opening of my bumper...

Good day.

Stealthed my Roof Rack. I used Krylon Flat Black metal paint for tubes and Krylon Fusion plastic Satin Black for the plastic. I like the small contrast between the two shades. Turned out well I thought... Also slapped a spare sticker I had where the old ones were.

Then I installed HID's that I got from DDM. got 6000k. I had just turned em on so they are super blue here, once they warm up they are quite white.

Kinda bummed about my HID's, they are having problems firing sometimes... When I turn em on only about 50% of the time will they all turn on. When one or two are not on, i turn em off and back on and then they are all on like 90% of the time then... kinda annoying. Any HID experts here? It is random as to which lights do it so I doubt its a specific ballast or bulb issue.

Changed out the uniballs and the heims on my PRG UCAs today.  Big thanks to Joe (08whitex) for pressing out the old uniballs, and pressing in the new ones!!!  That 20-ton press comes in handy, for sure!

Also, I put a replacement snorkel head on the truck today.  I might be the only one with a Safari snorkel head on an Airflow snorkel - lol.

Hopefully sometime in March.  I still have to take care of my exhaust, fsu, and leaky TC (rear seal??).  Once that stuff is done, I'll be wheeling again.  Need to get a few runs in before Moab - just to make sure everything is running correctly before the big trip.

Joe (08whitex) tells me there are uniballs in the lower Radflo mounts.  I'm going to pull the coilover tomorrow and see what is up.  I know there are also misalignment spacers, too.  Hopefully, I can get that stuff locally and be back on the road soon.

I purchased a fuel skid cover today. May be in the mail next week!  My under belly will be complete!
(12.31.2015)
Well I fitted the OEM oil Pan over the Transmission and was short 5 inches  . I made some extensions and the right side fitted really well into the transfer  skid. However I will have to adjust and cut the diameter so it will fit perfectly. I do got to say it is working very well in coverage and adding stiffness to the New  Tranie  skid plate.

The other added benefit is the extensions uses the cross members of the frame to add strength.

The 2nd  skid plate idea did not pan out so well. ???

I will get pictures on the final product. 8)

I lowered the passenger side of my Xterra, so now I'm just under 39" on all 4 corners of the X...down from just over 42" on each corner.  Man, I need to take it in to get the SOA down ASAP...my radflo's look so sad set at 1" of lift when they go up to 5".  Taking it in to get aligned now, then I'll take it on Monday to the shop to see about getting the SOA completed, so I can crank the front TS Radflo's up to 3-4" with a 1" plate on top...will see about getting the limiting strap tabs welded on too.

Also, ordered a Maxterra rear tire carrier bumper last night...there is a 10 week lead time :(

Sold my bucksnort rear bumper with an aftermarket tire carrier.  There was nothing inherently wrong with it other than it only had the 3 holes for connecting the bumper to the frame, whereas the Maxterra uses all 4 holes and the bracket follows the line of the bumper better.

Did the front and rear u-joints this weekend the old school way (hammer & block). I kept hearing this clicking sound when at low speeds in the neighborhood and when exiting the freeway. I checked the front drive shaft and both of the OEM spicer u-joints were toast.

Got my 2 meter Ham installed.  Had been using a handheld when I needed it but now I have the mobile base installed.  Took me forever to tune due to a defective fire ring from firestik.  Usually there stuff is good, needless to say I wasn't impressed and rather than go and argue with them I just repaired the connector myself.  Words of wisdom, always check your radio's SWR, if you don't you may have major issues and not even know it.  With Ham's 65watts the defective ground was enough to cause windshield wipers and lights to turn on, but with a CB you'd probably never know.     Also, on a side note, it turns out those little 12v to usb chargers create a tun of interference, I noticed it on the ham.  After doing more research I think it's enough to degrade your FM radio reception, or cause CB issues.

I have been wanting to go HAM for a while now. The last 4x4 club I was in made a big push for it, and it was awesome. The clarity and range makes communication much easier with larger groups especially when you split up. I was most impressed when my buddy made a phone call to his wife from the top of Mt. Lemon using his radio. Getting a HAM license is high on my to-do list.

I still need to learn how to access the radio to dial option, and bear in mind anyone on the net can hear your call.  That said, yes it makes communication so much easier.  With the repeater network and coverage in AZ, especially when running multiple groups, it would make life a bit easier.  CB coverage is a couple of miles at best, with Ham, if you were stuck on crown king and I was heading up to help you, I could talk to you the whole time.

Also, it's Firestik's 5/8 wave antenna, its about 4ft.

Where did you mount your compressor for the air ride lift?

That's the next step :)

Right now I just have the valves forward of the rear wheels and I carry a couple compressors with me.

Installed the fuel tank Skid  plate and added a pull point.  My jeep friend were kidding me and saying its a "Jeep recovery Point " I could only .grin and bear it since they were helping me out.

Its about 1 inch below the bumper but  it works and I will replace my tires with something more appropriate  for the dirt.

Now I am in search of a 3 in wide clevis. The hook up point is a little wider than your standard Clevis

Your build and installation of equipment are impressive. However, I had a thought pertaining to the placement of the valves on the mud flaps-

You may never leave the pavement, or traverse a boulder field, in which case having mud flaps is a nice thought. However, most X' remove them entirely to prevent them from being torn away on terrain. I'd hate to see not just your mud flaps, but also the air valves you've installed ruined in such a case.. Just my $.02
 Cheers

I actually considered that :)  The mud flap (and valve) is above the step rail (soon to be rock sliders).  Also, this is an interim step - installing an air tank and air compressor is next, and the valves will be removed.

Thanks for the feedback!

Just finished assembling my recovery kit and got it all under the rear seat.

In the first picture:
- ARB damper (can't miss THAT!!!)
- Recovery Strap (yellow)
- Axle straps (2) (black)
- Shackle for 2" receiver
- Receiver pin
- Tire repair kit

Radios are stored on the molle panels (second pic).

Nice start to a recovery kit, just a bit of advice.  I prefer to avoid the "recovery straps" with the clips at the end, they are typically referred to more correctly as tow straps and the clips normally aren't rated high enough to be used to "yank" out another vehicle.  The preference is to use a designed snatch strap, typically rated well above 15,000 lbs.  I do also carry a chain that is only rated to 6600lbs with hooks, but I only use that for righting overturned vehicles with a winch.  Also, get a shovel :)

You're dead on - that is a tow strap.  What would you advise for the correct strap?

There are alot of brands on straps but what you want to look for are the ones stitched at the ends into a loop or just have a loop weaved on the ends. 15k lbs is a good number to start with. I carry 3 straps different sizes and ratings.

Anything at a 4x4 store will usually be rated to that, desert rat or 4 wheeler supply.  I don't know this brand, but this looks like a great deal on amazon, maybe someone else can comment on Rugged Ridge quality.  http://www.amazon.com/Rugged-Ridge-15104-02-Premium-Recovery/dp/B002QSHIEU/ref=sr_1_4?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1458890848&sr=1-4&keywords=pull+strap

Stopped in at Dunbar Spring today and talked to Dave.  Soon, I will get new leaf packs built for the X (currently, I've got "Frankenstein" leaf packs that have a mix of some original leaves from 2006, and some aftermarket leaves from '07 and '11).

Nice, how much lift do you have out of your current leaf packs? I have an Old Man Emu type of frankenpack, but if possible I'd like maybe 1 more inch of rear lift so if yours do that now I may be interested in buying your old ones.

So, somewhere between the Lukeville border crossing and Ajo, I heard a "pop" from under the X. Between Ajo and Gila Bend I began to notice the brakes were getting squishy (it's all highway so there was not much need to use the brakes..) It was when we had to slow down through Gila Bend and make some turns I began to hear squealing and feel the "clunk" in the turning left and right. BY the time we were back in PHX, the caliper (front passenger) had almost seized the rotor, and the pads were wearing in w/ a horrible grinding noise. I should've recognized the "pop", it was the brace (metal ring) around the hub holding on the CV (half shaft). Since the axle wasn't attached to the hub any longer, the wheel speed sensor wasn't picking up and was telling the brakes to activate. Hub breaks, cv retreats, brakes seize.
In a pinch, took it to Just Brakes. They turned the rotor(s), used my mostly new pads, and replaced OME w/ NAPA eclipse dual piston calipers. Flushed, filled, and bled all four corners for a decent price. Found a busted sway bar end link too and replaced that on the cheap also.. Just Brakes on 43rd ave and Bell is an honest shop if you need one. I like to work on my X but sometimes, I'm ok w/ having someone do the work.

No idea.  Enough lift to fit the 315s.  Not sure if you want 11 year old leaf packs that are broken...

Glad you got back on the road, Dan.  I'm a little confused, though.  Did you say that you had Old Man Emu (OME) calipers, and now you went with Napa calipers?  I didn't even know that Old Man Emu made brake parts (I know them more for suspension products).

It pulled this codes a few months back and I cleared them with no issues.

Never heard of that - ever.

I work for an Aerospace Company that makes OEM parts.

Previously, I worked for an Auto Parts wholesaler/retailer that sold OEM parts.

OEM is a very common term across many industries:  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Original_equipment_manufacturer (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Original_equipment_manufacturer)

The only thing Google finds for "OME" is Old Man Emu...  :D

Sat I Pulled the headliner out and discovered that the roof skin is not original and the cross bracing is beat up a little (Maybe someone jumped on the roof?).

I'll have to get some material to re-cover the headliner so it's not sagging on my head anymore, fyi the foam stuff came off easily with a shop vac and some rubbing, however it filled it full of static which attracted all the dirt/grass off the driveway. lol Rubbed it down with a downy sheet and that helped a little. Seems like I should pay someone to re-cover it for best results and will be looking around for a shop to do it.

After which, then I can get back to what I intended, installing my light bar and other electronics I've held off on, seal up the mounting points on the rack, add some insulation to the roof using dynamat or similar and re-glue the cross braces to the roof skin.

- Replaced all 4 rotors and pads with ceramic

- Power bled all of the lines replaced old fluid

- Replaced the LCA's

- Greased all of the zerks

- Replaced the K&N cone air filter and cabin filter

Today I changed the oil and rotated the tires.

Installed an LED brake light/reverse light strip on the rear swing arm that I robbed from a traded in vehicle.

Painted the burger, rad skid, tow hook, wheel center caps, and valve stem caps pink.

Title: Rollin Monster Truck
Post by: Chuy on June 26, 2016, 06:10:38 PM
Just finished my 2" body lift install, it was easier than I thought. A lot of random tools an extra hand and a little bit of beer go a long way.

Decided to start around 2pm after I had come back from getting my sliders in Blythe. It was only 100 degrees outside Saturday so I wanted to take advantage of the cooler weather. My buddy and I started loosening everything and removed the front and rear bumper.

(http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e234/Medeco1/Vehicle%20Repair/IMG_1096_zpsbfy1u0vg.jpg) (http://s40.photobucket.com/user/Medeco1/media/Vehicle%20Repair/IMG_1096_zpsbfy1u0vg.jpg.html)

About an hour in and on the step of removing the driver side body mount bolts. One of them would not break loose. We tried a couple of tricks to free the bolt. We then  busted out the breaker bar, and my buddy snapped it like it was nothing (beast mode).

(http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e234/Medeco1/Vehicle%20Repair/IMG_1089_zpsgt4t4bnm.jpg) (http://s40.photobucket.com/user/Medeco1/media/Vehicle%20Repair/IMG_1089_zpsgt4t4bnm.jpg.html)

After about an hour of trying to weld a nut to the bolt, we had a beer and I realized I had to to cut into the floor since its sealed and the bolt was rusted solid inside. I busted out the LFH and chisel to pop the welds loose. We fabbed up a new mount siliconed the hatch and proceeded.

(http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e234/Medeco1/Vehicle%20Repair/IMG_1094_zpszwmi3hgr.jpg) (http://s40.photobucket.com/user/Medeco1/media/Vehicle%20Repair/IMG_1094_zpszwmi3hgr.jpg.html)

After that everything else went ok, we stopped around 8pm and I left the radiator hose and brackets to deal with on Sunday. Luckily Napa is closed on Sundays, so I went to Oreilys to find a longer hose. The OEM replacement is actually an inch longer from Sater but still needed a little stretch. I found another random hose in the back that was just a little too long. I decided to use that one and trimmed it for a custom fit.

(http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e234/Medeco1/Vehicle%20Repair/IMG_1099_zpstmvq6tou.jpg) (http://s40.photobucket.com/user/Medeco1/media/Vehicle%20Repair/IMG_1099_zpstmvq6tou.jpg.html)

The time consuming stuff is all of the little fab work that needs to be done. It would probably be way faster if I had a bigger garage and more work bench space.

(http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e234/Medeco1/Vehicle%20Repair/IMG_1109_zps5fz0tm0u.jpg) (http://s40.photobucket.com/user/Medeco1/media/Vehicle%20Repair/IMG_1109_zps5fz0tm0u.jpg.html)

I could barely squeeze out of the garage I had about 1-2" of space

The 2" Body lift looks great and is well worth the cost of the kit. You really do not need the whole kit at all besides the pucks and body mount bolts. The pucks are generic 2" lift style. Everything else could be made with scrap metal. The steering wheel feels a little stiff I may have to go in and adjust it. The body roll is far more noticeable now, wheel spacers and stiffer springs should help with this.

I have 2.5" spacer up front and lift shackle in the rear. Everything looks fine. It might be an issue off road, but I don't plan to wheel it until I get my new suspension with extended steel brake lines.

I swapped out the old eBay TC UCA's and stock coilers with 2.5" lift spacer. I also decided to add new brake lines to look bling, the OEM ones would have worked fine.

I have no idea what the coils come set from Nisstec at but Im riding at just about 39" still so I'm guessing 2.5 or maybe 2".

BORA 2" Wheel spacers, Ill let you guys know if one of my wheels comes flying off. I torqued them to 70 Ft Lbs, and used blue loc-tite. They look and feel very solid, much heavier than the TG spacers I used in the past.

Let me know how those BORA spacers work, I had mine on for a month and it was a nightmare. Even after shims and alignment. I asked BORA if I had the right ones and they told me according to the records they have that they never made spacers for a 2nd gen.

Did you have stock rims? Usually stud length is the issue with wheel spacers.

yes, steelies.

I'm getting some vibes from 55-65, but smooth after and before. I hope its alignment related, but I think its the spacers. I'm going to re-check them today. One of the front spacers was a very snug fit.

Sure did, ill see what the alignment does for it. I might have also knocked off a weight too when I removed the tires yesterday.

You may also re-torque your lugs on the spacer should be at 98 ft-lbs same as your lugs and as you do with your lugs make sure you do a star pattern while you tighten them.

Thanks Brent, the instructions said 70 Ft Lbs which I thought was a little odd. I might try the 98 Ft Lbs  wheel spec torque for them.

NP  Also chuy did you do a suspension lift also if so did you use axle degree shims on the rear. that has caused some vibrations for some guys if they didn't use them.
Title: Alignment, Wheel Balance, Torque, all good vibes now.
Post by: Chuy on July 06, 2016, 06:11:29 PM
I took the X in for a preliminary alignment today, the Firestone at Luke rarely gets it right but they brought the vehicle much closer to spec from where it was. Oddly enough this is the only Firestone I know of that prints out their alignment sheet in black and white, its usually in color everywhere else I have been.

(http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e234/Medeco1/Vehicle%20Repair/IMG_1146_zpswfmpt0wj.jpg) (http://s40.photobucket.com/user/Medeco1/media/Vehicle%20Repair/IMG_1146_zpswfmpt0wj.jpg.html)

I have a follow up appointment at the firestone closer to my house, I have had much better luck with them in the past with my lifted vehicles.

I noticed almost all of the vibes were gone after the alignment but it still had some, I recall having some vibes before the lift and telling myself I need to get my tires balanced. Im guessing the vibes I was feeling were mostly bump steer because of the caster along with me noticing the vehicle more.

I took it to Discount to have the wheels balanced and rotated they also torqued down the spacers to OEM spec.

The X rides so smooth now, smoother than before the lift. Im guessing it was a combination of small things causing me to notice the vibes more.

Thanks to everyone for all of the input, crossing my fingers a tire doesn't fly off.

I did, I usually have the wheels off at some point every month so I will periodically be checking the torques to see if anything moved.

Replaced the rear brake lines with longer aftermarket ones.

(http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e234/Medeco1/Vehicle%20Repair/IMG_1189_zps6pqlqgru.jpg) (http://s40.photobucket.com/user/Medeco1/media/Vehicle%20Repair/IMG_1189_zps6pqlqgru.jpg.html)

What should have took less than an hour took way longer, the bolt holding the left brake line halfway snapped off. It was rust welded on, and I eventually had to drill it out.

(http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e234/Medeco1/Vehicle%20Repair/98b0fa3a-9f03-41d6-af33-4bea2ca3926e_zpska1uhraz.jpg) (http://s40.photobucket.com/user/Medeco1/media/Vehicle%20Repair/98b0fa3a-9f03-41d6-af33-4bea2ca3926e_zpska1uhraz.jpg.html)

The OEM bolts are a little long and almost half of the threads are exposed. I cleaned out the treads and replaced them with some bolts I had lying around.

I purchased the front and rear from Nisstec $180 for both sets. I'm curious to see if Titan brake lines are a little longer or would accomplish the same thing.

Imagine this . . . rolling over a boulder field in a dry river bed.  The X is poised on the front right and rear left wheels as the ground disappears under the front left wheel . . . the X careens over, rolling almost onto its left side.  But for the grace of God, who held out his hand and kept the X from tipping over, this would have been a much different story.

What did I do with my X today?  I found out what I cannot do . . . and I tested the strength and sturdiness of Sasa's sliders.  Got scrapes and saw the X supported on the sliders.  He makes good stuff.

UPDATE: Added pic of slider damage, er, protecting the X :)

Yes, my Xterra had a beat down by the hail storm in 2010 iirc so I wanted to fix the peeled off paint on the roof which led me to do a bunch of other things while I had the roof rack off to originally just put on the light bar. One thing led to a dozen others. lol

Repaired somewhat the hail damage on the roof, installed heat barrier underneath, replaced headliner, painted roof, installed roof rack with silicone to seal leaks, installed lightbar, installed amplifier, partial install of inverter under amp mounting surface hidden in headliner I still need to finish the wiring.

Also had done slotted drilled rotors and ceramic pads in the front.

TBDone, replace condenser fans I just got from Amazon, and a dozen more things. lol Never ends.

Did some a/c repair the other day. Replaced the drier and the expansion valve. It was a lot easier than doing the lower control arm. A/C works again, can't tell how much better than before  but it is better than it was the day before which was zero cold.

It will likely need a replacement condensor and compressor but I wasn't up for that challenge just yet.

Not quite what I did today, but what I'm about to do, and I think I'm about to make a mistake.

Adding an ARB bumper (shipping weight 330 lbs) and a winch (shipping weight 88 lbs).  Let's say 75 lbs was shipping materials.  That leaves 340+ lbs I'm putting on the nose (minus the old bumper).

Do I need new front springs?

Adding an ARB bumper (shipping weight 330 lbs) and a winch (shipping weight 88 lbs).  Let's say 75 lbs was shipping materials.  That leaves 340+ lbs I'm putting on the nose (minus the old bumper).

Do I need new front springs?

Atleast 600lbs
650-700lbs is usually what i see.

Here's OME http://www.nissteclifts.com/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage.tpl&product_id=58942&category_id=173&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=72

but it doesn't tell me how many pounds - just that it "OME 2608 Heavy Load- 100-175 lbs EXTRA Consistant Front Weight"

Is this the right one?

Hey George, just my opinion, so take it for what it is. I highly recommend if you are replacing to go with the Radflo's, the ride quality is unbelievably better than OME imo. It will cost more money up-front, but I feel it will be worth it in the end. You will definitely need to replace those stock springs, or you will sag probably around an inch.

If you do go with OME< from my understanding, you'll want the Heavy Load ones, that accounts for the extra weight of a winch and bumper, but in the end it is preference how stiff you want it. I would personally go with 650# radflos.

Radlos would be the easiest to adjust also. If you check thenewx someone had brand new ext radlfos for $700

Completed an HID projector retrofit. My first one ever. It was a bit of a PITA and there were surely some lessons learned, but this is a HUGE improvement over my OEM lights, which were in terrible shape.

Before:
(http://i231.photobucket.com/albums/ee234/jfanaselle/DSC_0519.jpg) (http://s231.photobucket.com/user/jfanaselle/media/DSC_0519.jpg.html)

After:

Some shots of the project... I started out with a pair of headlights I purchased on Craigslist. They were in pretty good shape (especially compared to mine), but I wanted them to look brand new. I used the typical oven method to disassemble them. Once disassembled, I tinted out the amber corner reflectors with VHT Night Shades paint. I also used the Night Shades on the OEM reflector inside the housings, but I used about 5 coats to give them a "black chrome" look. I then used satin black paint on the trim ring after sanding the factory chrome off of them. For my lights, I used the basic H1 bi-xenon projectors (the ones that don't require any trimming) with "mini gatling gun" shrouds, and I painted the shrouds with some "aluminum" colored paint, because I think it looks nicer than the cheap chrome that they came finished with. Once they were re-assembled, I used a headlight restore kit on the lenses before spraying a few layers of acrylic clear coat on them to protect them from hazing up as bad my old ones did. Once the clear coat was dry, I polished the crap out of it for hours and hours to give it a crystal clear finish.

I installed all of the new Schrock skid plates minus the transfercase skid. I measured and re-measured to make sure I can mod this thing for the Xterra. Looks like its going to work out perfect once I chop it up.

I finished up the final skid to the puzzle after work. No where to cut this thing down so busted out the grinder and propped it against the trash can. What could possibly go wrong?

Added an ARB bumper.  Took way longer than I thought, but the plastic is cut perfectly.  Lots of little problems, but none were insurmountable.

Problem I discovered was the lights, when wired in parallel with existing lights (not headlights), caused the turn signals to fail.  I replaced the ARB bulbs with some LED's from Walmart (https://www.walmart.com/ip/UNIQUE-BARGAINS-2-Pcs-White-1156-13-5050-SMD-LED-Light-Bulb-Tail-Turn-Backup-Trailer-5007-1129/49026772) and they work perfectly.

Don't think I chose these bulbs at random - these bulbs require a shunt resistor to work as a direct replacement.  Their resistance is so high that turn signal systems will think the bulb has burned out - exactly what I needed when adding a bulb in parallel to the existing circuit.

So if we add a LED light in parallel with the blinkers it will function the same?
Do the ARB ones have 2 modes(low and high) as i like to run with the markers only on alot.

"It depends."

If the LED light is made to be a drop-in replacement, probably not.  Turn signal systems assume a high-resistance bulb is a burned out bulb and won't work properly (fast blink).  So many (most?) LED bulbs have a shunting resistor built-in (or optional) to fake out the turn signal to think it's an incandescent bulb.  I took advantage of that design and got a bulb that "requires a resistor to function" and put it in the socket which was in parallel with the existing signals.  And it worked.

You don't have to do replace the upper intake gasket if you are just working on the driver valve cover gasket.

Drivers side or passenger side? The passenger side I did already as it was the easier side and did not have the intake manifold going up over the top of it like the drivers side.

As stated above... If you are just replacing the driver side Valve cover gasket you do not have to replace the upper intake gasket, unless you want to, but it's really not needed. I replaced mine only because it came with my lower intake gasket.

Did a thing. Added more unnecessary weight to the back. Just gotta trim.

Wouldn't the U-bolts be more protected from bending (after trimming) if you mounted them 180 degrees?  Noob here so not sure if possible.  Just looks like it would make more sense.  haha

Then the ubolt has nothing to bolt to.

I do see now what you are talking about now. They should supply a 1/4 - 3/8" piece of steal to mount over the top

Installed rear diff breather mod.

Installed new front bumper camera.

Cleaned K&N Air Filter.

Rearranged light bars.

Did you have a hard time getting the new breather screwed back into the axle?  I can't seem to get my threads started.  Don't want to strip the threads.  Any tricks?

Caught a rock on my rear diff pulling the cover a little bit. Started leaking. Took it off today and fixed the leak. And I painted it pink.

Wish I had the luxury of a life. Must be nice.  Need to pull my diff cover off also, it is leaking.

Slow day at work allowed me to work on the X. Trimmed the front bumper to get a little better approach angles. Replaced a bad headlamp hid ballast. Mounted my switch and guage, ran some air lines, and mounted my air manifold for the onboard air.

Trimmed more of the front bumper today. Also ran an air line from the manifold block to the gauge in the truck. Wired from the aux fuse box to the gauge/on off switch and back to the pressure switch. OBA is almost complete. Still need to snag some compressor feet and a filter. Then to mount it, run one air line from the compressor to the first tank and wire the compressor to the pressure switch.

I cleaned up my wiring in the rear so I could add a pigtail for trailer hauling. The previous was powering my bumper lights, so now it's split so I still have an open plug.

Plus, I modified my bike carrier some by grinding some metal off so it would fold up and down and I can now open the bumpers tire carrier out of the way to open the rear hatch. Not ideal because the  hitch is lower and offroading it will be an issue but on the Flag2GC trail it will help.

Installed 1" wheel spacers out back

How are the wheel spacers working out?  I am looking to add 2" to all 4 tires.  What re the pros and cons?

Moved the 7-pin trailer connector.  Wiring plan included in case anyone wants to do this also.

Replaced both cam position sensors, and the crankshaft position sensor. When it comes to difficultly the drivers side cam sensor was the easiest of all three to replace, I say this because for the crank sensor you have to remove the wheel/fender liner.

Next on the list of repairs is the timing chain guides and tensioners.

I was really dreading the wheel bearings till I read the post from Rockauto.com the wheel bearings ran from 130-200 at Autozone but before discount from RockAuto they are 75.
