Ok so in the last year I've been in 3 accidents. I attend NAU here and have been hit by 3 teenage women drivers and they were all at fault. The Civic incident has been posted on here.

Finally updated this thing. Sold the Yakima basket, Xoskel Light Cage and KC Daylighters up top. Getting ready for LED and a roof rack project I think.

Wow that is an awesome build! ;D

I love that blue, it's so hard to find in the used market though, lucky!

Looks like you definitely came out on top against that Honda, just look at that thing, front, side and rear are just smashed... Imagine if you'd had the Shrock bumper then. Ouch.

This is definitely another X that I can't wait to see in action ;D

Yeah except for when we're always the ones still going up the hill when everyone else in front decides to stop to talk... lol

I adopted the hand brake technique for that. When I'm stopped on an uphill while driving an MT, I pull the parking break up and then slowly let it out at the same time I'm letting out the clutch. Keeps all the movement forward and helps the tires from slipping from adding too much power too quickly on surfaces other than pavement.

So manual transmissions ftw still ;D

Too bad my Xterra has a foot brake for e-brake... I dunno how the newer models are built.

Gen 2s have a hand break, ok so not as easy ;D

Yup. That's what I do and I'm pretty sure Andrew does the same thing.

Put in LED interior lights and a LED license plate bulb from vleds.com. Super bright! Anyone that's on the fence about purchasing these get off the fence and buy them! Finally mounted the compressor gauge/switch and remounted the Bullydog GT. Air horn will be arriving tomorrow!

Mind posting the part numbers for the interior lights?

And which air horn did you get cause you need it with all the people you have run into.

Post by: Slapshotking09 on February 18, 2013, 09:21:20 PM
You mean with all the people that run into me. I got a Kleinn that runs off the Viair.

The interior bulbs are just bulb 3175. There's a bunch of different colors and brightness

Got a new a-pillar for my Bullydog and compressor gauge. Looks awesome and is super easy to put in. Also looking at starting a custom headlight project with projectors.

Inspected the roof rack the other day since I will be having a roof rack made in the next few months. I will have to drop the headliner because EVERY SINGLE nut on the roof rack is spun -_-

Marcin, I bought 295/75/16 Toyo Open Country A/T Xtremes

Running fully amsoil now. Just changed the diff fluid. Had some problems with the RTV last time and it started leaking. Grabbed a mag-hytec diff gasket and put it back on a few days ago. Repainted the diff skid and stealthed my fairlead as well. New wheels coming as well.

Amazing mods and pics. I'm definitely envious man! Couple of questions...tell me more about the euro key switch. Would love to do it but what's the process? And can you tell me more about the rear view can mod? Which cam, screen, install, etc? Will you post some pics if you have them of where you put the screen? Sorry for the questions but minor mods are all j can do right now plus the euro key and rear view cam are ones on my "to do" list anyway...just not sure where to start! Thanks dude! Again, wicked looking X!

Here's the link for the Euro-key

The screen is my radio double din screen, and I purchased it on Ebay for $10. It was a PITA to install.

Picked up a set of Speedbleeders since one of my bleeders was starting to round. Easy to install and makes bleeding brakes a lot easier. Also painted the wheels matte black, got annoyed of the gloss. Ordered a new oil sensor FINALLY since mine went out in March. New headlight project coming and more lights on their way.

Hey what I do on the weekends is my choice.   ;D ;D ;D jk

Umm actually I saved up when I had my first car and wanted to put it into something and my buddy from high school had what I thought to be a badass X (first gen with brush guard) so I decided to save up with that and poured it into my X.

That's awesome!  How many miles do you have on it?

I'd love to have an X like this one!  I just don't want to pour money into a car when I don't know how long it'll last.

It has 108k on it. If you learn the x and all the general maintenance it'll survive. A member just hit 300k on the thenewx

Crown King was fun. Glad to see so many people showing up. I'll upload some pics tonight of recent projects but I got my 20" and 40" mounted. Will have my otrattw switches set up tonight with a fuse block as well.

For anyone doing this. You DO NOT have to take the spindle apart from the UCA to get the hub out.

Take the tires off, 2 bolts for caliper, pull rotor off, 4 bolts for hubs. Damn wiring harness was the worst thing ever to unplug.

Also decided to do the Rear - Diff Breather Mod from Thenewx

Parts from Toyota Dealership and 12 feet of 1/4" clear tubing from ACE.

$13 Total.

Awesome mods so far man! Looks like I need to start looking to prostitution to get some things done! Haha! For your hood rod mod, did you go with McCaster Carr struts? I just switched my rear hatch over to the 175# struts & holy ish...what a difference!! I'm a travel nurse so one 13 week contract I'll be at sea level, the next I'll be at 8000 ft then back and forth. Finally got sick of the darn thing giving out & clocking me. No worries about that now! Plus now I'm set for a Gobi ladder. If you get Mc-C's, what was the size and #? Better still, do you have a link for the mod? That would be sweet. Thanks man! Are you still in Flag? My house is in Phx but I'm in Sacramento right now. Thanks again!

I moved down to Phx in October and just have been enjoying the weather. Found the link to the Hood Rod Mod. Just order what they say in the thread. They're mighty lifts.

Put new leaf spring bushings in and come to find out my shackles we resting on metal. Hence why my adjustable shackles were "pinched" in. No more problems with that with the new bushings.

I'm almost done with the Retrofit project as well. Just need a day or two off from work.
