So some of you may just now be hearing about this as this travel management plan is at it's next stage. Well, it's not new news, it's been in the works for some time as you can see I originally posted about this back in May 2017, so it has been a year since their initial approved scope and they have now updated their maps with options for which they are trying to get input.

The BLM can not manage all the trails out there and again, many of them were not marked or put their by a land management office. They were created by those not treading lightly, so keep that in mind when you see trails marked for closure, or limited use. The map covers state, federal, and private lands which the trails cross in and out of. If you were creating a road map of your own, how would you do it based on the fact you have to cross multiple properties belonging to multiple neighbors...and keep it as simple as possible. And make everyone happy...

The BLM representatives are very understanding and want to protect everyone's interests, if you are familiar with the trails they have marked and can speak to them about why or why not they should be altered please do so respectfully.

There are OHV Ambassadors in the club who get to see and hear about the goings on from land management representatives in person, and can be a voice for our fellow offroaders. If there is something we can help with let us know.

Here is the link to the maps, I'd suggest also reading the pdf presentation, it offers a general outline for the feedback they need.

Yea dude sounds good, I was thinking about hitting up the expo as well, I doubt I'll be able to get up there on Friday, but could definitely camp Saturday to Sunday and hit up the expo for a day. Otherwise I'm the usual 8-5 Mon thru Friday worker so weekends I'm always free.

Sounds fun! How aggressive is the trail? I could be open to it depending what type of trail it is. Done 4 peaks, Schnebly, butcher jones, Munds, cinders, Mormon lake. Happy jack trails like that. Mine is a 2wd so it's out on the rock crawling stuff lol.

My understanding is its pretty gnarly and not 2wd friendly. If I have a seat open you could ride with me

Not from Hawai`i, but lived in Makakilo, Pearl City, Ewa Beach.  Spoke more Hawaiian than many kama`aina.  Left 18 years ago.

Glad to see there are plenty of locals in the club..I do NOT miss pearl city traffic though
We gotta get together and do a run or camping trip or something soon. I work nights this month (6pm-6am) and a rotating shift so my schedule is all hemajang. I’ll be up close to flagstaff next weekend and might hit up the expo if I have time. Have a camping trip that I planned with some buddies before I knew about the expo. It would be awesome to meet up with some locals with common interests!🤙🏼
