Xterra Garage / Rear Lift
« Last post by AZGeorge on June 17, 2018, 10:11:50 PM »
I replaced my rear springs this weekend.  I love the lift, however, by the numbers, it's pretty strange.  The Xterra Service Manual, Page RSU-16, shows my Xterra should be 35.59" from the ground to the wheel well arch.  With my new springs (ALCAN, 400# support +3" lift) AND a +2" shackle, my rear wheel arch is just 37" above the ground.  I get the shackle really only delivers 1/2 of the extra length, but how is it that +3" springs plus 1" (1/2 of the 2") shackle only gives me 1.5" of lift?  Seems like it should be 4" more, so I should be riding at 39.6".

FWIW - I'm glad it's not that high, but I'm trying to understand this Xterra math.

Pictures & Videos / Desoto Mine to Crown King

Desoto Mine to Crown King.
Both trucks have similar mods, 2 inch leveling kit, sliders, on 33s.  The Xterra has upgraded skid plates.  All of these mods where needed for this run.
Some of the pictures where taken by my friend.
The purple line shows the track of this trip.  We started at Bumble Bee then headed for Desoto Mine shortly after Cleator.  Then the slow drive to Crown King.
