  • PitSnipe (Kyle): Wow, I have not heard of this issue. 15 hour job for a $50 part is nuts. Hopefully someone that knows of this issue will speak up.

  • downs44: Got an 06 that just went through SMOD. Got everything replaced. Now my low oil pressure light is flickering on after the engine warms up and the truck is at idle. Doing some digging on the forums it looks like a common problem is the rear timing cover gallery gasket leaking and causes the symptoms. Looks like a 15 hour or so repair for a $50 part. Was wondering if anyone else has had this issue and any words of advise. To save some dialogue, the oil pressure sensor is about a year old and I changed the oil and filter after i noticed the light and that did not fix the issue.

First Mods
« on: February 09, 2013, 08:54:05 PM »
So I attempted my first mod today on the X. I bought some stock steps that i needed to add for some family members. So I figured I would start by stealthing them. It's a lot tougher then I thought. I'm letting the first one dry overnight before I start the second one. We will see cross my fingers. I know the first thing someone is going to say is that I should of got sliders but I couldn't pass these up for $60. And if I lift it the wife and other peeps will need it.

Then let me be the first to say you should of got sliders :)  I can understand for 60 bucks, and they are only 4 bolts so my recommendation is that you pull them off before doing any trail runs.

I will add, steps for people to get in for $60 great price! But if your inetentions are to lift it and wheel it, bad choice, steps will cause more damage eventually than the price of sliders cost, which by the way are steps to get in as well.

But if it's a mall crawler and intentions are only to be so, great find!

There are multiple sliders available out there, most popular in Az are Xoskel, pm Fangars (John) he'll give you a price, Xoskel is his company.

I finally took my steps off when I bedlined my plastics, my mom and aunt have yet to forgive me... (I got them a little fold out step stool though ;D )

It is a lot of work prepping and painting and installing. Definitely share some pics of how that came out!
