  • PitSnipe (Kyle): Wow, I have not heard of this issue. 15 hour job for a $50 part is nuts. Hopefully someone that knows of this issue will speak up.

  • downs44: Got an 06 that just went through SMOD. Got everything replaced. Now my low oil pressure light is flickering on after the engine warms up and the truck is at idle. Doing some digging on the forums it looks like a common problem is the rear timing cover gallery gasket leaking and causes the symptoms. Looks like a 15 hour or so repair for a $50 part. Was wondering if anyone else has had this issue and any words of advise. To save some dialogue, the oil pressure sensor is about a year old and I changed the oil and filter after i noticed the light and that did not fix the issue.

What kind of mount did you make for those HID lights?

Looking good ;D

What kind of mount did you make for those HID lights?

I took some 3/4"x3/4" steel angle iron and welded some bent flat stock onto it so the bar sits down below the wind fairing.

Not my X, but its basically the same as this:

EDIT:
Here is a photo of my setup.

Hey, I remember you saying recently you got your timing belt changed and whatnot. Did the place you went to also change out the water pump? I'm trying to find price quotes for the job around my side of town, unfortunately looking at $800 and up...

Rosie,
Airpark Auto Service does all the work on my truck. They are up near the Scottsdale airport. I'd call them to get a quote.

Here is a new crossbar I'm fabricating to hold my CB antenna and eventually a shovel and Hi-Lift. I'm using a Miller Diversion 180 TIG welder and it makes beautiful welds.

Close up of my TIG welds:

Shrock Rear Bumper coming soon.

I also just picked a used Oasis 2 RTT on my way back from California. Without the ladder, it weights only like 40 lbs which is pretty great. Hopefully I can go camping with it this weekend.
