  • downs44: Got an 06 that just went through SMOD. Got everything replaced. Now my low oil pressure light is flickering on after the engine warms up and the truck is at idle. Doing some digging on the forums it looks like a common problem is the rear timing cover gallery gasket leaking and causes the symptoms. Looks like a 15 hour or so repair for a $50 part. Was wondering if anyone else has had this issue and any words of advise. To save some dialogue, the oil pressure sensor is about a year old and I changed the oil and filter after i noticed the light and that did not fix the issue.

Anyone use these before in AZ i have seen a ton of a reviews on them and they seem overwhelmingly positive just worried about using a retread in our heat here but they seem okay and amazing value for the money.

I posted on thenewx about my experiences.  I would recommend against them strongly.

Having never used them, my opinion on things of this matter is you get what you pay for. And if you have an issue, you have nobody to blame but yourself. That being said many people on TNX have used them without issue. I would try them...and I would not be shocked if I had an issue.

I have tried them and I would NOT reccommend them.  I ordered them for my 04' X.  Two of the four would not balance within spec so they had to send me two new ones.  When we put air in one of the new ones the tread bubbled up about 1 1/2" and was already seperating from the casing before even hitting the road.  I wound up getting a full refund and I do commend them for standing behind their product and doing the right thing.

Those are the complaints I see alot about them.  Mine were barely balanced at first, after a little wear and a couple wheeling trips you could see a large wobble in the tire and they became unbalancable.  I wonder if I could have returned them at that point but I continued to drive on them and one delaminated on me a couple months later.  When i looked at the receipt I had them for about 14 months and they give a 12 month warranty.  So I went to Discount and bought some nitto terra grapplers.

It was about a week or so after buying them that I called them back and told them I didn't feel safe driving on these tires, I want my money back.  They simply said "OK, no problem."  They didn't even want the 6 tires back that they had already sent me.  I waited a while and posted them on craigslist for sale for $200 for the 5 that weren't seperating, then I told the buyer that they were retreads and I wouldn't reccommend using them on the road.
