New X owner- Tucson!
« on: April 21, 2013, 10:11:43 PM »
Hi all,
my name is mike, I bought my Xterra yesterday and it is bone stock. I have already done the radiator mod and will be having a bumper made on the 11th.
Shoesandsocks is a close buddy of mine and one reason I bought the X.

Plans within a month are : Simple lift 2-3", bumper, fix oil sender unit, wheels OE alloy ones, install my KC lights, and put a new trans cooler (per the mod).

Welcome to the club ;D

Alright! Another Tucson member, this is getting cool ;D

Definitely we'll be putting together a Tucson Mod Day soon, I'll be busy for about two weekends coming up, but I'll get a post going to find out what our Tucson people want to get done and what day we might be able to get the most people together.

It looks like an awesome X Mike, and I haven't had any fab work done yet, but I'll be anxious to see how it comes out and open up local options.

See you around ;D

Also ride quality etc.. I will take pics of the install of the spacers and quality of the product. I am on a little bit of a budget so i will be testing generic US made 3" spacers etc.. What exactly is a mod day? I use to have a powerstroke diesel and pretty much everyone hated eachother hahah.

My goal for at least a year (to gain experience and see how I like it)  is just a little more clearance 265/75/16s or 285s depends. It is my daily driver so we will see what happens.

I've got 285/70-17 on my truck, I like having the extra tire track but I did have to make some minor cuts to make them fit in the front arches. Might have also had to do with my wheels having a -10 offset. But the cut to get it to fit is so minor you can't notice it and could be done with a Dremmel and the melt mod pretty easily.

I am sure I will be able to fit a bigger tire, like a 285. I am just not sure I wan to yet. I think I would be happy with a 265/75/16 on some OE alloy wheels or maybe after market ones. I am kind of going for fuel economy, and versatility. We will see what happens! I ordered the sensor I need for the oil sender switch from rock auto hopefully its a good product. spacers are on order too.
