  • downs44: Got an 06 that just went through SMOD. Got everything replaced. Now my low oil pressure light is flickering on after the engine warms up and the truck is at idle. Doing some digging on the forums it looks like a common problem is the rear timing cover gallery gasket leaking and causes the symptoms. Looks like a 15 hour or so repair for a $50 part. Was wondering if anyone else has had this issue and any words of advise. To save some dialogue, the oil pressure sensor is about a year old and I changed the oil and filter after i noticed the light and that did not fix the issue.

AZ Local tube/metal plates etc bumpers
« on: April 23, 2013, 10:06:45 PM »
So I had found someone to do my tubed front bumper, we set a date and he gave me a price etc... sounded great! It seems as though he is now flaking out. I can't seem to get him to respond to me in the least, even to just say I can no longer do it. Question should I wait until may 11th and see if he follows through? Are there any Tucson locals that can do a Calimini styled prerunner front end? If there is even a phoenix guy that can do it that would be fine.

The gentleman that I had contacted before told me 350 for a bolt on bumper with steel skid plates not painted.

Any input?

Thanks!

There ya go. I do know though that he will be gone for a month and a half. He leaves this week. When he gets back he has a roof rack to do  ;)

So I was able to get a hold of him. We had to change the date a bit but he took down his ad due to people looking for handouts and not wanting to pay for his work. I will keep you all posted and hopefully the bumper will look great. He said sometime after may 11th.

Now the question is to do a skid plate or to not do one?

There are some fab shops in Tucson too.

I've been waiting to save up some money to have Ballistic do some work for me. My neighbors have a couple of rails that had work done by Ballistic and they look pretty solid.

There are also a few other shops that advertise locally... I'll see if I can find their info again.

Thing is too, I like the price he gave me, I suppose I can call around and see what other people are thinking for price for that styled bumper.

I'd like to see a pic of that.  I've been wanting to put an aftermarket bumper on, specifically a tube style one, but don't want to fork out the money that some of these places want.  $350 range sounds way better to me :)

I had a great experience with John at Hunter Offroad but definetely not $350, more like 3 times that price plus some. But he custom builds it to your specs, did winch mount, recovery points, etc... and is always available for any repairs if need be.

Hunter's prices are absurd imo. a tube bumper should cost less than a plate bumper

That was my reasoning for looking for a fabricator to make me a tube bumper.

Artie does complete custom set ups too. I referenced the calmini styled tube bumper because that is the one I like. He does these in his free time on the weekends and he said he could do mine in a day.

Here you go:

His name is Artie, Let him know you are an AZXTERRACLUB member and that Mike (me) referred you. He took his ad down because of the people wanting free work etc.. He told me he wont be free to start doing stuff until next month. It doesn't hurt to ask questions though .

His number is 520-440-1248 don't forget to mention I sent you :D  ;D
