  • PitSnipe (Kyle): Wow, I have not heard of this issue. 15 hour job for a $50 part is nuts. Hopefully someone that knows of this issue will speak up.

  • downs44: Got an 06 that just went through SMOD. Got everything replaced. Now my low oil pressure light is flickering on after the engine warms up and the truck is at idle. Doing some digging on the forums it looks like a common problem is the rear timing cover gallery gasket leaking and causes the symptoms. Looks like a 15 hour or so repair for a $50 part. Was wondering if anyone else has had this issue and any words of advise. To save some dialogue, the oil pressure sensor is about a year old and I changed the oil and filter after i noticed the light and that did not fix the issue.

SCCX refugee!
« on: June 18, 2013, 11:22:22 AM »
Ok...maybe refugee is a bit harsh ;)

Hello...my name is Christiaan....I am an active SCCX member and I was referred to AZXC by none other than GhostX, who sends his regards...

I just spent the weekend in Prescott and wheeled in Sedona, and I will be going over all the posts on Sedona I can find because I am working on an event to be held there later this year...

Have a great day guys/gals and hello!

Hello! So whereabouts are you?!

San Clemente....half way between LA and SD...

Welcome, were you on the Mojave Road SCCX run a while back by chance?

As a matter of fact I was!!  I was right behind Danny (Toro) for most of the trip, and one could say I was a bit heavy on the gas pedal in a few stretches (including our infamous Soda Lake youtube vid!)

i wanna see this youtube vid?

http://youtu.be/snu9MzoeQuE

A few things to consider:

We were in 4hi...which means our top speed was around 50-55mph...I think we maxed that out for certain

Danny (Toro) should get all the credit; he's shooting this video with his left hand, while driving on a trail and matching our speed....really much harder than it may look...

I am the rig at the beginning of the vid....then Jordan (knightrider) shows up....then we do figure 8's like that MBZ commercial....at 50mph.....in the middle of this dry lake bed....An amazing experience....

:)

Yeah, an unfortunate by-product of heavy skinny pedal useage...

When's the baby due?  Everything going according to plan?

The baby is due August 30th. Everything is going very well, strong healthy baby so far. Thanks for asking, I am very excited for our first kid, though she is planning on quitting working and staying home full time, so my Xterra budget is going to take a real hit.
