  • PitSnipe (Kyle): Wow, I have not heard of this issue. 15 hour job for a $50 part is nuts. Hopefully someone that knows of this issue will speak up.

  • downs44: Got an 06 that just went through SMOD. Got everything replaced. Now my low oil pressure light is flickering on after the engine warms up and the truck is at idle. Doing some digging on the forums it looks like a common problem is the rear timing cover gallery gasket leaking and causes the symptoms. Looks like a 15 hour or so repair for a $50 part. Was wondering if anyone else has had this issue and any words of advise. To save some dialogue, the oil pressure sensor is about a year old and I changed the oil and filter after i noticed the light and that did not fix the issue.

The times have been discussed already just waiting on a few more numbers of total people to determine the exact length of these trails in hours. The times and lengths will be posted two weeks out and the final pre-runs of the last two trails should be accomplished this weekend. Once Nick sends me the trail description and pictures, I will have those posted up. We have had a lot of rain lately and has changed the obstacles and in some cases significantly. We would like to provide a more accurate description for everyone. Unfortunetley my rig is down for a while (waiting to develop funds to acquire a new transmission) and have been staying busy with home renovations so I have not been able to do the pre-runs myself. However, Nick is a great driver and has done a fantastic job with descriptions and help along the way.

As for the evenings.....we plan on hanging around camping and relaxing. No real plans just a campfire, BBQ, and adult beverages. The real purpose is just and enjoyable weekend of wheeling and hanging out with good friends. This will be a great event!

I really wanna go to this it sounds like a blast, but i only have 2.5" lift and 2wd no skids or sliders... is that a major issue... some of the pics dont seem to bad but i have never been out there...

Xterra06,

on the two trails that are listed you should have no problem with your X, however on the next two trails there will be a different story. A two wheel drive vehicle will not survive or make it through very well. I think it would be great to have you and you can make your own judgement call off the information provided but I will say we wont attempt to being a 2WD through the last two trails that will be posted next monday. Thanks.

Nick

Alright guys....change to the change. We have a reservation setup for Red Rock Canyon Campground. I will have my tent setup at noon tomorrow in prep for the meet up before we head out to APEX/Nellis Dunes. Plese make changes to things you may have setup for reservations at a hotel. Thanks!

I will post more information about the campsite as it comes. Glad we could get this figured out for everyone!

Glad to hear everyone had a great time! We had a bit of difficulty on Saturday with Potato Ridge a.k.a. Rock Gap Road. We did succesfully complete this trail witha few trail repairs that to my understand still held on the way home for him. Again thank you all for the attendance and we look forward to next years event for those who can make it. Until then we will wheel soon!

Nick

I got home with no issues, still not a drip from my transmission pan.  I'll pull it this week and weld it, and I need to order some skid plates.
