  • downs44: Got an 06 that just went through SMOD. Got everything replaced. Now my low oil pressure light is flickering on after the engine warms up and the truck is at idle. Doing some digging on the forums it looks like a common problem is the rear timing cover gallery gasket leaking and causes the symptoms. Looks like a 15 hour or so repair for a $50 part. Was wondering if anyone else has had this issue and any words of advise. To save some dialogue, the oil pressure sensor is about a year old and I changed the oil and filter after i noticed the light and that did not fix the issue.

Sunday October 6th Near Tucson
« on: September 26, 2013, 11:22:22 AM »
Hey everyone,

My dad is visiting Tucson and we're excursion for the day. Anyone interested in coming should join us and make it a convoy.

We'll be heading up to Rice Peak on Sunday morning.

Here's the map.

We'll be gathering at 9:30AM just off American Ave in Oracle, AZ. I should have some spare radios for anyone who joins in.

If we start heading up the trail by 10AM then we should make it back down the other side of the mountain through Summerhaven by 3 or so in the afternoon.

Hope to see ya there! ;D

We just did the run from Amado to Patagonia last month. That was great!!! If you know of any other trials in that area that would be cool.  Reddington  is cool also. what ever you choose I'm in.

I'm sorry I missed that one, the runs by Patagonia are awesome!

I'll start looking through some maps and see what looks interesting.

I was taking a look at a few maps. I've never been to Rice Peak which looks like a cool trail, not sure if it's overly easy or anything though. I'm wondering if Box Canyon or Madera Canyon would be too far for a day trip out. Any thoughts?

Rice Peak is a loooong and rocky trail.  Views from the top are spectacular though!

Might just be worth it then. Like I said I've never been up there. Would you be up for it by chance Tim?

Rev do you know where we will be going if Tim can't make it and do we have a head count.

I'm still really interested in seeing Rice Peak. I've never been there before like I said, but without Tim there's a good chance we might get detoured due to my lack of directional ability. Should be an adventure though. So whoever wants to go definitely chime in and I'll update the OP soon with where and what time we should meet up. ;D

Alright this is what I've got as far as the trail and map through Rice Peak:

Google Maps

It doesn't seem like it's that long, but I guess it should be really rocky. It goes by an old mine too that would be cool to see.

For the most part though it still follows the Mt. Lemmon trail that starts up by Oracle. We would end up at Summerhaven by the end of the trip again.

Hey Tim, if you happen to stop by the thread let me know if that trail looks right to you for Rice Peak. I'm going by TOPO maps and it looks right to me but it's always good to be sure ;D

Thanks!
