Pacheta Lake
« on: August 26, 2013, 12:54:06 PM »
The lake is located on the edge of the Fort Apache Indian Reservation in the White Mountains (http://www.wmatoutdoors.org/) and you need a permit to camp which they sell on the website.

Route:

From Whiteriver we took the Y70 to the lake. The next day, we explored some backroads that were rarely used on our way out to the US 191. If you've never driven the US 191 between Eagar and Morenci, its well worth the trip.

A few miles into it, a heavily camouflaged crossover came up the other way towing a trailer. A few minutes later a few more came by and I had the camera ready and snapped two pictures. My first thought was a 2015 Lincoln, but about 10 minutes later some more obviously camouflaged Cadillac sedans came up so my best bet would be that the first ones were Cadillacs too.

We saw lots of wildlife, including turkey, deer, elk, and even a Bald Eagle. Rained pretty heavily, but it was well worth the trip.

And because I know some of you won't click the link above, here are a few:
