Even though this trail has become easier over the years, it is still a fun trail, and it is very scenic.  At that time of year, there is a strong possibility of snow on the ground as you near Crown King.

I can't say for sure if I'll be able to make it on the 11th (due to work schedules), but as of right now, I'm planning on it.

I'm still looking forward to running this trail, I think a green trail is perfect for a New Year's run.  I think it allows everyone how doesn't have a SASed 1st gen to enjoy meeting the group and have a good time enjoying some AZ scenery and alt changes.  Also, it will be good to keep tabs on this trail, if things become too easy we can switch it up in the future.  Besides, there is always a risk of overheating to make things interesting :)

I agree completely, I wasnt implying or saying not to run it at all or you have to switch I was just making you all aware of what I have heard about the trail as of late and what to expect. I actually will probably be on the run as I would like to see it for myself.

Having a SASed 1st Gen has nothing to do with anything...

As far as overheating heating goes, it can happen to anyone, 1st gens have had a long history of overheating for years (unfortunately), my truck after diagnosing it and the history of running a little hot to and from Moab (Ted can attest to this as he drove home with me and I mentioned to him I was running a little hot) and on a few trails in Moab I replaced my radiator, fan clutch and thermostat when I got home figuring that would fix my issue, CK the day I overheated was my first run after these parts being replaced but obviously did not solve my problem. Come to find out I did have a cracked head and the shop said this crack did not just happen all of a sudden that day, especially with my history of running hot, they said the crack must have started small months ago (showing running hot symptoms) and of course cracked all the way on CK while I was overheating. Anyways I now have a new motor and no overheating issues at all, lets hope it stays that way.   ;D

I'm a new member so this would be my first run and it sounds like a prefect way to meet the group. I won't have my January schedule until December 16th but I'm confident I can get the day off, so count me in.

Count me in too.  It'll be my first club meet, since sadly my work, ASU home games, and a gf who isn't a fan of off-roading have held me back.  Is a CB really necessary for the run? I hate showing up unprepared...
