  • Conundrum: Wow, with all the rain I've been in as well as flooding in the X on Fat Tire, I have a new issue. Set light blinking rapidly and goes away after restarting the engine. I did a little research and I guess the cruise actuator can get nasty and seems plausible since I went through a puddle on purpose on the right hand side and that made the set light for cruise start flashing again. I'll check it out after the rain stops. lol Have fun and be safe out there everyone.

Are you still making these racks? I may be interested for a 1st get and have a couple of customization questions.

I just wanted to see if you would be able to integrate a mount for a hi-lift jack as well as a mount for a rear facing light bar. Plus the grating.

I recently had Whattha put together a rack for me.  While I was originally going to go with a DepHep style, I found a TheNewx member (Airmapper) who had put together something similar, but didn't sit on top of the nerf bars, rather it sat in between and mounted with some nice stylish exhaust hangers.  This solved the problem I had, in that I didn't want to drill into my nerf bars.

Whattha was very open to trying a new design and I think he did an amazing job, considering he only had pictures to work off of.  I'd highly recommend him if you need a rack!

Here's the result!

Note: I still need to do some u-bolt trimming and get some caps for the holes so it's sealed up.

If you're interested in the mountings, they are McMaster part:

Any thoughts on the weight limit of this particular rack? This might be relevant to my interests.

I'd say, see stock roof rack limits, the drop in rack looks better built than the bars it attaches to.

FYI, my 240 lbs but sat up there just fine today while I finished up work on it.

Now putting 240 lbs up there and factoring highway speeds.  That's a different story.

Nice clean Modification and one does not gain height.   I am always paranoid in parking garages!

I would put that on my truck!

I was just in phoenix and would have bought this had I known... FML

So what is the cost with all mounting hardware and could purchase black all ready? Reallydo not want to mess with painting or powder coating.

Just finished this rack up for Pinchel.  First one I have done for a First Gen.

I forget. Did we discuss this fitting with a ladder at some point?

Hey all, sorry I have not been on the site much lately.  I did not notice all the traffic on this thread.

Pinchel- We did talk briefly about a ladder for your rig, I have not attempted on before so I will have to look at how they attach and go from there.

As for some of the other questions about the amount of weight they rack can handle.... it is a lot.  They are over engineered for what the factory bars would be able to hold.  I have loaded mine several times with a lot of gear and gone on road trips and never had an issue at all.  They are versatile and come in handy more often then you would think.  If anyone is interested I am still making them and am taking orders.  Now that the weather is going to start cooling down I will be gearing up with some other metal projects I have been hired to do but am willing to produce racks as often as I can.

Thanks for all of the positive posts, I am happy to hear everyone has been pleased with my product.

Cheers,
Nik (Whattha)

Quoting to ask the same. Also, you mentioned earlier that the price for the base rack went up to $200; is this still correct?
