  • PitSnipe (Kyle): Wow, I have not heard of this issue. 15 hour job for a $50 part is nuts. Hopefully someone that knows of this issue will speak up.

  • downs44: Got an 06 that just went through SMOD. Got everything replaced. Now my low oil pressure light is flickering on after the engine warms up and the truck is at idle. Doing some digging on the forums it looks like a common problem is the rear timing cover gallery gasket leaking and causes the symptoms. Looks like a 15 hour or so repair for a $50 part. Was wondering if anyone else has had this issue and any words of advise. To save some dialogue, the oil pressure sensor is about a year old and I changed the oil and filter after i noticed the light and that did not fix the issue.

Looks good, I would worry about smaller things falling through or getting stuff stuck on it.  Maybe you could save yourself welds by using fewer cross braces and a sheet of expanded metal over it all.

Hammer,
Yeah I have done a rack like that. It does help but I still use the same amount of cross members. The rack is probably over engineered but it is built to last. As for things falling through, personally I have not had any issues. If it is small I keep it in the rig larger bins, boxes, or bags go up on top. That is how I roll.

Pinchel,
I have not done one before. I would like to look and see how the Gobi rack mounts to the truck. I have never seen one up close.

Standard rack is $200. Depending on addional options from the price goes up. I am currently on hold for racks. I am moving between homes. Should be settled soon and I have one rack on order now I need to finish once I am done with this one I will be open to more orders.

I'm a big fan of the closed cargo, are there any future plans for putting a locking box in there?
