Rear Differential Cover Options
« on: March 03, 2014, 02:32:10 PM »
Ok so I have been researching rear diff covers. I am curious as to what you all are using. What's the best? What should I stay away from? From what I can tell there are three companies.
Since I'm not a Pro4x I guess I have the C200 rear axle.

Blue Torch Fab at about $115 + shipping
http://www.bluetorchfab.com/Product/1001/BTF-Nissan-C200K-Kryptonite-Differential-Cover.aspx

Shrockworks at about $120 + shipping
http://www.shrockworks.com/Differential-Cover-Diff-Cover-Diff-Protection-Skid-05+-Xterra-&-Frontier-pr-16205.html

Ballistic Fab at about $115 + shipping
http://www.ballisticfabrication.com/Nissan-C200-Diff-Cover-Welded_p_1683.html

Is there another company that I haven't found yet? I'd love some feedback.

Thanks a lot.

The Shrock is more like a skid, not a replacement cover like BTF and BF.

I think Ballistic Fab is in Tucson but I know they're sent out some warped ones in a GB on thenewx a few months ago.

I have BTF and it's ok, I can't tell if it's slowly leaking or not.

I had a Shrock one and it worked great, never had an issue.

I have the BF the guys there are great. I've had no issues yet. They told me that the problems that they had with GB was for the M226 not having enough clearance not a warping issue. I personally would go with BF just because they are sort of local for you.

I've had no rear diff protection on now for 120k miles, wheeled the piss out of this X, and I believe it's just now developing a slow leak. Me thinks it could be time I install that shiny, red Shrock diff cover I've had now since buying it back in '07. The one that's been sitting there, in the garage..  ::)
I got your "Jeep thing", now it burns when I pee..

Youve had it sitting in your garage since 2007 with no install, wow impressive!  ;)
