  • downs44: Got an 06 that just went through SMOD. Got everything replaced. Now my low oil pressure light is flickering on after the engine warms up and the truck is at idle. Doing some digging on the forums it looks like a common problem is the rear timing cover gallery gasket leaking and causes the symptoms. Looks like a 15 hour or so repair for a $50 part. Was wondering if anyone else has had this issue and any words of advise. To save some dialogue, the oil pressure sensor is about a year old and I changed the oil and filter after i noticed the light and that did not fix the issue.

Place for the best price on extended SS brake lines?
« on: March 10, 2014, 08:34:34 AM »
Welp, my baby got on a flatbed last night for the first time on almost 7 years. Went out coyote hunting and must've stretched the brake lines a bit too much. I noticed a soft pedal, but I've needed new pads for a while so didn't think anything of it. Then the vdc and slip lights came one. Next stop sign we got to off the dirt finally the pedal was waaay soft. Then the brake light came on. Pulled over and yup. Pissing fluid on the rear drivers side. Sat an hour and a half for a AAA tow and finally got home.

Funny thing is, I had all my tools and brake fluid, but no way to clamp off te leaking line to limp it home.

I've never done anything with brakes before really, but gonna get reading and tackle it within the next week or two. Thankfully we just bought a second car!

So like the title says, where's the best price on extended brake lines? I know there's a place in PHX you can pretty much piece your own together for cheap, but I wouldn't know what the hell I was looking for! Nisstec's are $89 for the rears, just hoping there's cheaper out there. Back to googling of my Monday morning!

I read somewhere that the stock Titan lines will bolt right up and they're a bit longer too. True?

This is where Marcin got some lines made up - they were for the front, but I'm sure they could make them for the rear, too.  He said they were much cheaper than PRG.

EDIT:  Quote added from Marcin's build thread

New brake lines made by the Parker store!  48 bucks steel braided.

I've been to this store as well. Went with Marcin a few times. You are correct Ted. Faster and cheaper than PRG/Nisstec.
