  • Conundrum: Wow, with all the rain I've been in as well as flooding in the X on Fat Tire, I have a new issue. Set light blinking rapidly and goes away after restarting the engine. I did a little research and I guess the cruise actuator can get nasty and seems plausible since I went through a puddle on purpose on the right hand side and that made the set light for cruise start flashing again. I'll check it out after the rain stops. lol Have fun and be safe out there everyone.

Sheep's Bridge Run (Sat, April 26th @ 08:00)
« on: April 01, 2014, 12:35:49 AM »
Hello AZXC, I'm making a run out to Sheep's Bridge at the end of this month.  Date is set for Saturday, April 26th.  The plan is to take Table Mesa Rd (East side of I-17) to FR24, and then head north to Bloody Basin Road (FR269), and finally east to the Verde River where Sheep's Bridge is located.  If you go, you will need an Arizona State Trust Land Permit, as the East side of Table Mesa Rd (FR41) is on state trust land.

This run will take most of the day.  Bring food / water / sunscreen, etc., etc.  We will be stopping at the Verde River to eat lunch and hang out at the river.  There are some good photo ops there.

Meeting Time / Location:  08:00 at Table Mesa Rd (exit 236 on I-17).  Meet on the East side of the freeway.  Please make sure your fuel tank is full before starting this run.

Here is a description of the trail:  http://www.azxterraclub.com/forum/index.php?topic=435.0

Here is a link to the state trust land permit application:  http://www.azland.gov/programs/natural/recreation_permit.htm

Individual permits are $15 for the year (covers 1 vehicle), and Family permits are $20/year (covers two vehicle in your household).  You can either mail in the application, or bring it down to their office at 1616 W Adams St (in downtown Phoenix).

Hmmm this sounds like it'd be fun! You think a stock height 2wd fronty with just spacers in the front will do ok? I read the trail info but don't wanna hold the trip up because I get stick or something

From my understanding they don't make a LSD for the SV. But something that acts like an LSD from the factory

In dry conditions, you shouldn't have a problem.  There is only one short, optional obstacle that has a bypass.  This is a really easy, but very scenic trail.  In wet conditions, 4x4 becomes a necessity.
