  • Conundrum: Wow, with all the rain I've been in as well as flooding in the X on Fat Tire, I have a new issue. Set light blinking rapidly and goes away after restarting the engine. I did a little research and I guess the cruise actuator can get nasty and seems plausible since I went through a puddle on purpose on the right hand side and that made the set light for cruise start flashing again. I'll check it out after the rain stops. lol Have fun and be safe out there everyone.

Your VP is Back
« on: October 15, 2018, 02:29:43 PM »
Hello All,

I am sure some of you heard that I was away for a while. ToTM was my baby and I feel bad that I couldn't keep it going.

I am back now and as your Vice Prez I am committed to getting this club back to being very active again.

On August 20th 2018 at 3:00pm I had a Hemorrhagic stroke. I had a brain bleed on the right side of my brain. The bleed was about the size of a golf ball. I was flown from Banner Del Webb in Sun City to Banner University(Good Sam) in Phoenix. I arrived at the hospital at 8:00pm. By 10:00pm the bleed had stopped. The stroke was caused by a blood pressure of about 250/115. As Drs worked at getting my blood pressure down I was then experiencing the results of the stroke. My speech was slurred and the entire left side of my body was paralyzed.

Doctors explained to me that as my brain healed I would get movement back. This is not something that I was ready for. I am only 36 years old.

After fours days in the ICU I was stable enough to go to a normal floor. After two more days on that floor I was then transported back to Banner Del Webb in Sun City. Once I arrived at Del Webb I was admitted into the Intense Acute Rehab Facility. I spent 18 in rehab learning to use my arm, open my hand, stand, and after a nearly weeks I learned to walk again.

I left the hospital and was headed home on September 14th 2018. My recovery was so advanced that I was able to return to work on September 24th 2018.

I am able to run now and full use of my left arm and hand. I am still unable to drive. I see my neurologist On October 18th and hope to get the good news that I can drive again. I am currently still going to out patient physical therapy twice a week to work on my balance and strengthen my hips and left leg.

I still battle with sensation issues. I feel nothing on my left side. Literally from my ear to my toes. I am completely numb. I also have left side neglect. My brain does not know that I have a left side. As my brain heals I will regain that back.

I would like to thank Avi, Bethany, Rob, and George for visiting me while I was in each of the hospitals. Your support helped me get through this tough time.

I am beyond excited to get back to wheeling and camping.

Thank you for reading this and if anyone has any questions please ask.
