  • downs44: Got an 06 that just went through SMOD. Got everything replaced. Now my low oil pressure light is flickering on after the engine warms up and the truck is at idle. Doing some digging on the forums it looks like a common problem is the rear timing cover gallery gasket leaking and causes the symptoms. Looks like a 15 hour or so repair for a $50 part. Was wondering if anyone else has had this issue and any words of advise. To save some dialogue, the oil pressure sensor is about a year old and I changed the oil and filter after i noticed the light and that did not fix the issue.

oh gawd . . .

Well, I reshaped (nerfed) my nerf bars - now they look like bananas.  Dented the rear bumper fascia.  Scraped the nose.  Left two mud flaps on the trail - found one and picked it up.  Put a golf ball sized dent in the rocker panel.  Tested the skip plates numerous times.

So to clean 'er up a bit, I stripped off the remaining mud flaps, removed the nerf bars, and put on SasaSliders.  Don't know if he's decided on a name yet, so that's what I'll call them.  See pic . . .

^ Thank you so much for uploading a high resolution picture! I get tired of looking at all these 400x600 thumbnails people keep uploading on my 4K monitor.

So those are the ones you mentioned in the slider thread...

They are similar to one I was looking at, but Sasa made these.  Same materials as the one I was looking at.  His price was comparable, he installed them and I'm helping out a local entrepreneur.  Life's good.

I like these a lot! I might ask if he wants to make another set...

I removed the 1.5" lift shackles and raised the front .75" since the front cookers had settled a bit. Now the X is a LOT more level with the TS and SOA. No pics because it was too dark by the time I was going to take them.

I did that same mod a few years ago after ripping open that hose during Crown King. Good times. It's the one going into your air box, right? I think the OEM replacement only cost me $20 or something.

I had bought some Spectre parts and made my own Cai but the grommets failed under intense heat. I bought a new Oem version and yes it was like 20ish but it also isn't 100% oem. The whole thing is a soft flexible rubber.

This past week. I have replace my intake hose with an OEM replica. I say replica because it wasn't exactly the same spec, but it fits, and is working like a charm.

Also, retaped a good portion of my engine wiring harnesses, and replaced some of the plastic looms, while I spliced/replaced/relocated the knock sensor.

Replaced the PCV valve. Easy fix and cheap part. However, had to go walk the aisle of hoses behind the counter at Autozone because whilst removing the old valve the hose disintegrated. There is no obvious part for oem replacement that I could find for today. The one I found worked, it was some random molded heater hose that I had to cut maybe a 1/2" off one end because it was too long.

Bolted to the frame, and they come through the rear bumper. I used a dremmel to cut out the slits, and they come straight through.

Thanks! I am sticking with a black / blue / orange theme
