  • PitSnipe (Kyle): Wow, I have not heard of this issue. 15 hour job for a $50 part is nuts. Hopefully someone that knows of this issue will speak up.

  • downs44: Got an 06 that just went through SMOD. Got everything replaced. Now my low oil pressure light is flickering on after the engine warms up and the truck is at idle. Doing some digging on the forums it looks like a common problem is the rear timing cover gallery gasket leaking and causes the symptoms. Looks like a 15 hour or so repair for a $50 part. Was wondering if anyone else has had this issue and any words of advise. To save some dialogue, the oil pressure sensor is about a year old and I changed the oil and filter after i noticed the light and that did not fix the issue.

thanks for the reply Az-Ted, yes that is whats required to be in the dunes. but it has been 10 months since i last visited pismo and some like myself use anything but solid red or orange. I've had my california whip for years now along with others that have broken while rolling the ATV. All the rangers that i have encountered just want to see that others can see you.
there is a store/RV on the beach that sells different color/images on the whips. its out there daily and i believe it opens like at 9am daily

I imagine i would just put one on my antenna, does a dive flag work or must if be orange?

Just updated the list on the beginning of the thread to add to the update, there are about another 12 maybes, this early from the run and it looking pretty promising for a good turnout with a variety of nissan rigs.

Stopped by Pismo on Thursday (I had a wedding up in Chico on Saturday).  This place is a blast!  The people were friendly, and the dunes were awesome!!!

Here is a picture of the whip setup I bought from a vendor on the beach:

I'll be updating the roster list some time this week and I will be brining my ATV. Anyone else brining their toys?

Seems like I'll be able to come. Now about that whip? Where does one get the contraption and the whip itself for the rack?

Hey rushNrock awesome, no worries if you can't find or make a whip holder. I'll be trying to make some so they fit on our factory racks. Or if you want to figure your own that's cool too. What I'll be doing is using a U bolt and a plate that's sticks far enough to drill a hole for the whip. A local off road store normally carries whips along with some universal brackets so they can get mounted on.

i was able to make the bracket work. you just need the whip and the base mount and your good to go. this is what the base mount looks like.
