Took the kids out this morning. Spent some time in North Peoria finding caches in the urban elements. Walked away with 7 more finds. That puts me at 527 finds. Its starting to get hot out there.

Went back out this afternoon after naps were over. Went after 3 I've had my eye on northwest of the White Tanks. Scored all 3 and had a good time exploring the area.
Found the huge saguaro cactus and ran into some cattle.

Happy Easter to all. After all of the family festivities wore off the minions and I set off into the desert for grab a few caches. Went back to clean up a few west of the White Tanks. One that I found was actually farther west. Followed the canal road to the pumping station where it goes under the Hassayumpa River. After crossing the river it was another 5 miles to the cache site. It was actually hidden at an old abandoned gravel yard. No buildings at this one. You could still see the foundations though. This place was a dirt bike honey hole. Its always nice to stumble on new territory. After that cache I ventured north into the desert around Whittman and snatched two more as the sun was setting. This brings my cache total to 533 finds.

Just after crossing the river

Went out along the Maricopa Trail and picked up 4 more caches. That brings my total up to 553 finds. The Maricopa Trail is a newer trail system that caters to the hiking and bike crowd. No motor vehicles allowed. After that I found myself close to the White Tanks and for the first time took a trail though the north end. In the second pic Surprise is in the background.

Wow it was a great weekend for geocaching. Went up to Child's for a little camping on Friday. Picked up 8 caches on the way to the camp spot. Saturday grabbed 6 more and had some help from Hammer while on a hike. Today I scored 23 with my kids while the wife was away working. That's 37 caches found in 3 days. The Geocaching anniversary was on Saturday May 2nd. Its been 15 years since the public was able to start using GPS for this excellent hobby.

Awesome pics everyone, this is one of those things i've been meaning to do, but never really done. I thinking I've found around 4 or 5 different geocaches  on accident though while hiking or hunting though! Every time i've added a gift and signed my name.

Spent the day with the kids exploring and geocaching. Today I set out to complete the Sun Valley Parkway Series. I went out from 9am to Noon and completed the southern end and picked up few at the south end of the White Tanks. Went home to feed the kids and get some naps in. Then went back out from 4pm to 7pm. Completed the rest of the series along with a few from the C.A.P. series. It was a great day. I even ran into an older couple from Iowa along the way. So after a total of six hours out geocaching I found 38 hides (old one day record was 23) bringing my total to 653 finds. I also have a streak of finding at least one a day for 17 days now (old consecutive streak was 55 days in a row). Thinking about knocking out the whole C.A.P. series next Sunday if anyone wants to join.

Spent a good portion of the day geocaching the C.A.P. series north of the White Tanks. Found 19 today with only 2 DNFs. Brings my daily streak to 30 days straight with a find and a total of 711 finds.

Wow, do you have a goal in mind or just going to find them all?

My current goal is to beat my old daily streak of 55 days and then see how long I can continue it. My long term goal is to find all of them. I like to look at the map and [plot out where I am going. I also like to blanket certain areas. I have Surprise about 90% complete.

Went out this morning and grabbed 10 more out near Whittman. Came across this memorial and thought it was fitting for the Memorial Day Weekend.

This is straight from the geocaching website.

Geocaching is the real-world treasure hunt that's happening right now, all around you. There are 2,631,798 active geocaches and over 6 million geocachers worldwide.
