New ShrockWorks Installation
« on: May 25, 2014, 10:44:33 AM »
A few months ago I ordered a complete package of ShrockWorks components for my 2010 Off Road Xterra. On Friday a couple of friends came over and we installed the front bumper, rear bumper, tire carrier, rock sliders, and differential cover. It took about 8-hours (with beer breaks) to remove all the old parts and install the new components. My younger friends took it all in stride but it kicked my 63-year of butt hard! Anyway, the aches and pains are gone today so I'm going to prime and paint the remaining skid plates and try to get them installed this week. I've gotta say I'm really impressed with the quality of ShrockWorks gear.

The next step is a 2 1/2" lift and new tires and rims.

Looks great. How does it ride with the added weight?

I've always kinda liked the look of that front bumper but might just go with a bull nose and keep it simple.  Plus how do you get to the oil filter with that ?  Take that front plate off every time ?

Thanks for the comments!

PitSnipe: The rig sits a little lower with the additional weight. It rides like you have 4 adult men for a load. With 2-bumpers, a tire rack, and 6 skid plates, ShrockWorks strongly suggests a lift. I'm getting the Radflo 2.5″ NISSAN XTERRA PERFORMANCE SHOCK SYSTEM with Total Chaos Upper Control Arms and a custom Dunbar spring package. I'm undecided on the wheels and tires but leaning toward the Goodrich Mud-Terrain KM2 285 75 16 with 8" wheels.

TeguTerra: Access to the oil filter is a little tight, but not an issue. I changed the oil this morning and didn't have to remove the radiator skid plate.

Outstanding  Rig. Yo have done  Good.  I like your bumper better than my Iron Bull. Very Clean design.

Your rig is not over done.

Congrats! 8) 8) 8) 8)
