  • downs44: Got an 06 that just went through SMOD. Got everything replaced. Now my low oil pressure light is flickering on after the engine warms up and the truck is at idle. Doing some digging on the forums it looks like a common problem is the rear timing cover gallery gasket leaking and causes the symptoms. Looks like a 15 hour or so repair for a $50 part. Was wondering if anyone else has had this issue and any words of advise. To save some dialogue, the oil pressure sensor is about a year old and I changed the oil and filter after i noticed the light and that did not fix the issue.

No Skooter, you have to find your own way.
Just go down the road, turn left at the saguaro, up the second hill... You'll find it.
OK, just kidden.
Someone can meet you somewhere, like maybe the "North Entrance Station" at the end of CHS Road where we air down or further north on the road at the corner of CHS Road and Cow Creek Road. We've done this quite a bit. Cell service may be a bit sketchy, so we'll have to figure something out with comms when we get closer to that weekend.

Have you seen all the donation car washes around town lately... maybe we should have a truck wash so we can have hot dogs for our Pleasant trip... we are all so broke right now!
J/K! No truck wash.

I have enough in the laundry change bowl to buy hot dogs for everyone. We be good to go.

I think I have a few hotdogs in a cooler in the garage.  I forgot about them until now.  Now I'm afraid to open the cooler.  It's only been a month or so.  Do you think they are still good?  :-X

One thought, If it is going to be hot down here like it is supposed to be next weekend, I vote we go up to forest lakes.  I like being cold :-)  Thoughts?

My buddy Paul wants to tag along.  A few of you have met him...he had the Blazer when we almost got washed away at Lower Sycamore awhile back.  Can he drive his own truck or does he have to ride along in the X?  I think I remember somebody getting a bit finicky about non-Xterra's on xcursions awhile back, so I figured I'd ask.  If he drives separate, we can burn the 1/8th cord of firewood he has in the bed.

This Saturday/Sunday at Lake Pleasant still the plan?  We are looking at high 89 and low 62 with lots-o-sun if we head there.  How many trucks are we looking at?  If we want water and have a lot of people then somebody's gotta get out there early enough to claim some land.  If my buddy can drive himself then I can be at the water whenever, otherwise looking at 1 or 2 at the earliest.

Here are 2 places that I know of: http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF8&t=h&hl=en&msa=0&ll=33.904616,-112.273064&spn=0.13307,0.22007&z=12&msid=104539144794764525020.0004765c5f9c04ea45566

XJC:
Yes, we want water. But no water right now at those locations on your Google map. The lake is down to 51 percent right now ( I think that map shows about 90-100 percent). But yes, between those two points would be great. You just have to go way south from there to find water.
Remember the last place we went... you, Megan, me and Wally... It was the perfect spot to camp and launch at that time... The water is gone now. I dont know how far away the water is from that point... you might not even be able to see it from that spot. But what ever the case, you can scout that area if you like. There are trails where the water was you can drive. You'll find the water edge eventually.
There isn't a prob with Blazer Boy, tell him to come along in his truck. We say it's cool.
We don't have a truck count right now, I think we'll have to wait to the last moment for that. Positive that it will be us 4 (Onix, me, you, Blazer Boy).

ALL:
Overnight camping requires a $10 pass or $5 just for the day. It's $2 for a boat. We can stop and pay at the North booth just before airing down.
Show up when ever you want. Just make contact with XJC or me or someone to find out the exact location or to follow us in or have someone come out to bring you in.
Typically Wally and I have been rolling about noonish on Saturdays.

This will be a no stress weekend, so no one is allowed to stress about anything. Just take it as it goes and have fun. Get there when you get there.  Leave when ever you want. Do what ever you want to do.
