AR15 Build
« on: July 23, 2014, 01:05:08 AM »
I was talking to some members about building up an AR but I don't have much knowledge on the subject.  Was hoping to start a thread so that other members could share some knowledge.

So the questions is, is this a good place to start?  http://fatboytactical.net/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=21&products_id=28604

This is one of my other expesive hobbies, so anyone let me know if have questions. Questionable if I know the answer, but I know where to get it or direct you to get it.  ;D

Yup, an Anderson lower is good to go.

For parts I had good luck with joeboboutfitters.com

The best resource for building direction is going to be ar15.com

Just to make sure everyone knows, do not put a barrel shorter than 16" on a receiver with a stock unless you have the $200 tax stamp for it to be a short barreled rifle. That is a easy 10 year stay at club Fed.  :o

I have my gunsmithing certificate so I can help if needed.  It's a hobby but still pretty proficient at it
