  • PitSnipe (Kyle): Wow, I have not heard of this issue. 15 hour job for a $50 part is nuts. Hopefully someone that knows of this issue will speak up.

  • downs44: Got an 06 that just went through SMOD. Got everything replaced. Now my low oil pressure light is flickering on after the engine warms up and the truck is at idle. Doing some digging on the forums it looks like a common problem is the rear timing cover gallery gasket leaking and causes the symptoms. Looks like a 15 hour or so repair for a $50 part. Was wondering if anyone else has had this issue and any words of advise. To save some dialogue, the oil pressure sensor is about a year old and I changed the oil and filter after i noticed the light and that did not fix the issue.

Well she still isn't on her own weight yet but getting slowly closer to that step.

The trans mount is finished and painted and put back into place. Should be good won't know till I get that front drive shaft made.

Front cross member is in place and primed.

And the coilover hoops are fully welded in and primed and started painting them.

And finally the axles and links are painted and primed.

So I ended up taking the axles and transfer case to a shop to have them rebuild cause it was taking way too long for me to do them. But the transfer case came back the other and it's in the X now.

So the X is on her own weight once again. I got the rear axle back from the axle shop on Friday and put in under the X. Next is to finish the brakes and steering. Also get the drive shafts made. I'm hoping to be back on the road by mid Feb.

How high are you sitting? That looks ridicules and it looks like you could fit 38"s.

So it moves under her power. A few issues still. But that's expected. Next test drive is planned to be next Friday.

That is so impressive. Interested in how it looks from the side. Great job on the build.
