  • PitSnipe (Kyle): Wow, I have not heard of this issue. 15 hour job for a $50 part is nuts. Hopefully someone that knows of this issue will speak up.

  • downs44: Got an 06 that just went through SMOD. Got everything replaced. Now my low oil pressure light is flickering on after the engine warms up and the truck is at idle. Doing some digging on the forums it looks like a common problem is the rear timing cover gallery gasket leaking and causes the symptoms. Looks like a 15 hour or so repair for a $50 part. Was wondering if anyone else has had this issue and any words of advise. To save some dialogue, the oil pressure sensor is about a year old and I changed the oil and filter after i noticed the light and that did not fix the issue.

AZXC Crown King Kick off Run February 7th
« on: December 15, 2014, 10:00:56 PM »
Every year AZXC kicks it off with a run up the backside of Crown King.  This run is always a lot of fun and well attended so make sure to post if you will be able to make it.  This run will take us through a variety of terrain, starting near Lake Pleasant at near sea level, and ending in Crown King at about 6000 ft.  Be prepared for the possibility of snow or rain, making traction challenging during the climb.  This run includes bypasses and can typically be run safely with a stock 4x4.

Where:  AZXC meets up at the McDonalds Here

When:  Plan on meeting at 8:30 AM, will head out at 9.

Time:  This run can be done in around 2 hours, plan on 4-6 for a convoy.

Communication: CB channel 17, FRS channel 1

Sorry I haven't been around to help. I helped lead this the last few years. It's always a good time. Can't make it this year as I work on Saturdays. Have a good time though!

Hi all, I'm new here, (mods please have mercy).

First a quick intro- my name is Duncan, I am in Prescott, and I'm 17, a junior in HS. I love the outdoors- mountain biking, hiking, exploring, offroading, panning, you name it. I have a bone stock 2005 Nissan Xterra 4X4, which I take on forest roads, development areas, and mud holes. You can find me more actively over at the Facebook group- "Xterra Off Road".

Anyways, I got the e-mail for this trip, and I am very interested and excited about going, however, with the parental unit in control of my life, it makes it very difficult to make the trip solo down HWY69 and I-17 to the McDonalds Meetup Point, in Phoenix. I am not too familiar with the route to the backroad to Crown King, but I think I can come over the mountains via dirt roads from Walker, AZ (just outside of Prescott) and meet you in Crown King. Do you guys know which way is safer for a solo trip? (gray or blue?) and what is your ETA?

Here is a link to my Google Maps image i was referencing: http://imgur.com/uDgetiV

Same here man,  if sfujimoto123 makes it I might ride with him,  that or riding with PitSnipe in Tucson was fun as hell.

I'm planning to try to make it. Should be a good shakedown run with the club.
