Arizona: Volunteers Needed for Clean Up of Popular Shooting Area on the Tonto National Forest

The U.S. Forest Service, Arizona Game and Fish and Tread Lightly! is hosting a cleanup event Saturday, January 17, 2015 along the Hewitt Station Road, east of the City of Apache Junction.

The cleanup area is popular for target shooting and other recreation.  Excessive trash and illegal dumping have prompted the need for the cleanup.

The NRA would appreciate its members in the area to volunteer on this project.

The details are as follows:

WHEN:  Saturday, January 17, 2015

TIME:  7:30am – 2pm

WHERE:  Hewitt Station Road

The cleanup area is east of the City of Apache Junction.  Drive east on US Hwy 60 to Queen Valley Road, then drive North on Queen Valley Road 1.8 miles to Hewitt Station Road, then drive east on Hewitt Station Road 1.5 miles to the 2nd railroad crossing and registration area.

RSVP:  info@footprintsmatter.org or 480-983-2171

What to Bring:  Lunch will not be provided so you may want to bring your own, although coffee and some food will be provided during registration.
Please bring water, work gloves, hat, sunscreen, rake or shovel and wear long pants and sturdy shoes.

If you can volunteer and have a NRA hat, t-shirt, or jacket, please wear it to let the sponsors and other volunteers know that you are NRA!  EVERY VOLUNTEER COUNTS!

Thanks for posting!  This is short notice, but I'll try to attend.  BTW, you may want to add the date to the thread title.
