I might have to withdraw from this event or at least withdraw my vehicle. With my suspension all messed up, I don't really want to put the stress on my vehicle until I have new UCA's. I'm still  most likely going to be taking my Dad's truck up to flag thursday to move a couch into my house in Flagstaff so I could probably take his Ridgeline and then ride along with someone if there's a seat open

I have stock 05 UCAs if that might help...

Hmmm... well not sure how rain worthy it will be but I setup a DIY shade for my rig.

I was wondering about the paths we were taking as well. Just Fire roads? Thinking of taking my bike to mess around on while posted up and at camp. But I don't want it getting jostled around like mad on the rack.

Some yes, some no. There are plenty of rigs that can pull you out if needed. You won't be stranded. Plus the coordinators will get you directions for surface roads and such if needed. This isn't that big of a deal guys, unless we get monsoon rains while out in the middle of it you won't have any issues getting anywhere.

Since there is a chance of rain, and I have never been up there in torrential down pours, plan for that. Worst possible case, plan as if you were camping in one spot for the night. This is a well coordinated event for folks on mountain bikes, supported by a bunch of experienced off-roaders and forest/desert folk. :)

You'll be fine. Maybe wet & muddy.

No.  If it rains up there, you can easily get stuck in the mud in 2WD.  Most of the trails are simply fire roads, and in dry conditions, high-clearance 2WD will have no issues.

There is one section shortly after SAG 1 - a hill climb and then descent down the backside that is a little rocky and tight (where the bottom of your vehicle may touch the rocks, and the exterior of the vehicle could get scratched).

More likely than not, you'll be fine.  I've been up there 7 times now, and only twice was it really muddy (2007 and 2011).  In fact in 2011, they had to stop the event at SAG1 due to the volume of rain coupled with continued lightning strikes.  That year, all the 2WDs bailed out onto US-180 to go either to End Camp or head home (they ended up canceling End Camp that year - no food and no beer).

My Friend Scott is going to be there again this year so that's one more vehicle to help.

Yeah that was the worst year when it rained out, but they had a party later on, that I didn't attend, but heard it was a lot of fun. The only other year that was miserable for me (besides the hangovers) was when they ran out of beer. :) But good times most others. Hanging out friends.

"I love you man!" :)
