Winch install help
« on: January 23, 2015, 11:41:54 PM »
Hey everyone, so the next thing on my list of things to do is buying a winch. So it looks like I'm about to pull the trigger and get one. I'm deciding between the smittybilt xrc 9.5 and the smittybilt x20 winch.

But as many of you know I am not able to work on my rig with my current living situation.

So with that said, I was wondering if there is anyone who would be willing to help with the winch install? I'm going to be putting it in a 2nd gen shrockworks bumper.

I'm not too familiar with the install but I'm trying to read up and figure out what to do.

I've never installed a winch either but we can do it at my house. Not too far of a drive for you

Word sounds good. Once I get it in hand I'll post again. thanks guys.

The main thing is its gunna be heavy with the shrock but otherwise it should be an easy install.

Can you install it in the shrock with it installed?  If so it's a piece of cake.

Maybe with a little wiggling and taking the grille off it might work?

Most likely not. You have the cross member that the grille sits on. You can take that out too. But I mean the Shrock bumper is only like 6 bolts to drop. And it'd be easier to run the electrical lines too.
