On board air.
« on: February 13, 2015, 09:28:38 AM »
So I'm wanting to do a on board air setup.   Was looking at the viair 88P and then a coworker has 2-1 gallon tanks he says he will give me,  should that work pretty good or should I go with a bigger tank or different compressor?   Up for suggestions.
Thanks

Hey sorry I didn't answer your question in the other thread. But I will be running a 2.5 gallon tank and unsure on compressor. Is the 88p a portable model? From viairs website the 325c looks to be the best option

It's portable but looks like it has +/- for like a car battery so not sure if that wiring can be changed to hardwire to a switch or not.

Are you going to be running any lockers? the one I've seen used is the VIAIR 10007 Constant Duty OBA has everything you need to install.

I picked up 2x viar 88p a pressure switch http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0043XDLEM/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and 2x30 amp relays.  I used my rock sliders as tanks, works pretty well.  But way more work than just buying a system.

I was looking at those remo1991, I think right now I may go with a smaller system until I get a locker.   I'm getting the tanks for free and figured I would pick up maybe 1 or 2 of the viair 88p and run that.   I know I would need amp relays and I want a switch to cut power to it so I don't have to worry about it kicking on all the time,  what else should I probably get for hookup?

I gave you the link to a pressure control switch, run it in line with the on off switch to the relay.  That's really all there is to it.

What Avi said. I had a setup from Viair and it had a gauge on it and the lines has a pressure switch/sensor and would cut off when it hit 150psi. It's not hard, hardest part it figuring out where to mount it and running everything and doing a clean installation.
