That link makes it sound easy...  ::) Thanks for the info.

I wonder if it's harder in reverse, the direction I took.  Although that staircase seemed pretty daunting from a downhill perspective, I couldn't imagine trying to climb it with stock suspension.

It is harder in reverse, I think with good tires and good driving it is doable.  The issue is the trail is really only one way, so we need to post people at the top to stop traffic in order to run it in reverse.

^^I think FirstXRS was talking about Greasy Spoon trail in reverse.  You are correct about Broken Arrow being a one way trail.  We will have way too many rigs for anyone to attempt the climb of Devil's Staircase.

Biggest recommendation I would make is that if you plan on using your roof rack regularly look for box sliders, or round with a platform to stand on.

As you guys know, I'm 2wd. I'm thinking if I have a winch by then I'd like to go. Would you guys suggest anything else, or just sitting this one out. If sitting it out is best... anyone with an open seat want a photographer lol?

This is a 4x4 only trail, but stock should be fine so long as side rails and mud flaps are removed.

As you guys know, I'm 2wd. I'm thinking if I have a winch by then I'd like to go. Would you guys suggest anything else, or just sitting this one out. If sitting it out is best... anyone with an open seat want a photographer lol?

You'll need to add a transfer case if you want to run Broken Arrow.  That being said, you can always head up with us and then ride along with someone for the Broken Arrow trail.  On the way out of Sedona, you could take Schnebly Hill Road back to I-17.  That is a fun trail similar to the Backroad to CK (Schnebly Hill Road is 2WD friendly).

No sitting out! I'm sure there are several of us who would be more than happy to take you along; and you already have one volunteer (pending approval for time off)! I have a seat if anything else falls through. Like Ted said, drive with us until we get to the trailhead, and especially if you're camping.

Camping if you choose to, permit for trust land should we cross any (which I think most of us have anyway), and maybe the red rock permit? That one I don't know.

No fees for running Broken Arrow.

Not sure where you guys are planning on camping but if you want to stay in red rock area it will be only in pay camp sites.  Outside of the red rock is mostly Coconino Forest, my understanding is that dispersed camping is allowed and does not require a permit or land use tag as it is a national forest.  That said someone should probably start a separate camping thread so that we can get a list of who is interested and decide on a location.  I am not the best person for this because I am not yet sure if i can make it to the camp.
