Shooting range feeler
« on: March 08, 2015, 02:57:36 AM »
A lot of guys have been talking about a range day for the group and I can't wait.  I wan't to get an idea of when the most people are available for this as not everyone is a shooter.  I would like to hit up Ben Avery or another outdoor range if possible, but I have no idea how busy these places are on the weekend.  I have available the Saturdays of May 2nd and 16th.  But could also do any Friday after the first week of April.

I love to shoot. Unfortunately the only gun I own is a .410 and that's typically not the type you use at a range. I may come to hang out depending on the day.

Ben Avery is a world-class outdoor range, and you can pretty much shoot anything out there.  I usually stay at the pistol/rifle range, but they also have skeet shooting, and a 1,000 yard long range, as well.  It is very structured and very safe.  Some people may feel it is overly restrictive, but it has to be with that many shooters concentrated in such a small area.

I will not attend, but that's because I prefer to shoot in very small groups away from the big crowds (most of my shooting is done at some of the more secluded spots out at Table Mesa).

For those of you who do attend, have fun and may your groupings be tight.

I would really like to do some skeet shooting, haven't been yet.  As for firearms I wouldn't worry, everyone should feel welcome to attend.  My firearms will be available for anyone who wants to shoot and I know another member offered his as well.

Why don't we call it May 2nd and get an idea of how many people can show.

I just hit up Ben Avery last weekend and it was nice. $7 a head, that's it. Don't forget to bring targets and plenty of ammo.

I'd be in for this meet.

Great to hear, hopefully we can bump this and get a little more attention.  Does anyone know if you can reserve lanes there?
