  • HBIII: The assembly is leaking in both sides and the boots on the inner tie rods are both ripped open leading them to believe it is all related. Sorry I'm not the best with suspension knowledge

I did it all myself, knowing what I know now it is doable in a day.  First attempt it took me longer as I fought everything.  I'd start spraying the leaf spring bolts with liquid wrench now.  Also, I've learnt to do the AAL on the truck, just use clamps/jack to hold the spring together while you remove the bolts then back it off.  Remove the overload spring, add the leaf.  I got a longer center bolt to get it started, if you can find one fully threaded you can cut off the end, if not use clamps once it maxes out and switch to the bolt it came with.

Heat doesnt really bother me. Esp when it comes to working on my rig. So if someone wants to host and can get a couple guys on a day I'm free I'm still game.

I don't get all the "man up" comments, and "heat don't bother me"  give me a break.  I did my mod by myself in early May, at around 90-100 and I wouldn't wish it on anyone.  At 110 by yourself is just miserable, if not out right dangerous.  You're talking about suspension components, pre loaded with hundreds of pounds of tension and making bad decisions under the heat of a Phoenix summer.   It would be one thing if we could get 3 or 4 guys to show up at 6AM and get it knocked out by noon.  But only one guy volunteered to help and I can't be there most of the morning.  Hopefully some of you guys volunteer to go up and help a fellow AZXC member install his lift in Prescott.

I think one of the things he was pointing out about doing it in Prescott were the tools. If I have a set date, I can get the day off, and bring the tools I have, but I definitely don't want to be the only one heading out there because my tools are no where near enough.

All in all, mod day went well and we knocked it out with two people within 4 hours with mostly hand tools. Next is getting my new rims fitted with bigger tires!

Three people, but still, everything went as planned. I forgot to add, that I just got some Off-road trim level wheels from Masaru and I mounted them to some 285-75-R16 Kuhmo Road Venture A/T's, and I'm living it!

On another note, I'm going to be back down in Phoenix within a few weeks to pick up my low-pro roof rack from whattha when he finishes it, and I'm going to need to paint and install it, as well as my KC lights, and wire it all in, and put some gear up there. So maybe if we could schedule another mod day for other members too in one weekend in late July, that would be rad!
