  • Conundrum: Wow, with all the rain I've been in as well as flooding in the X on Fat Tire, I have a new issue. Set light blinking rapidly and goes away after restarting the engine. I did a little research and I guess the cruise actuator can get nasty and seems plausible since I went through a puddle on purpose on the right hand side and that made the set light for cruise start flashing again. I'll check it out after the rain stops. lol Have fun and be safe out there everyone.

Crown King via Walker Gultch

I might add this to the trail section later. For now, a short description with some pictures.
This trail is harder than the normal Back road to CK.  I would say 4x4 is needed. I would recommend rock sliders or a small lift/leveling kit.  My stock X with 285/75 did fine. There where some tight spots in the river bottoms.  I did use 4low two or three times to climb out up some of the hills.

AZ Wandering Bear (Wade) and I took this trip on Monday. 7-13-15.   The trip was about 47 miles. Give or take a mile or two.  We did stop at some ghost towns, other ruins and some grave sites. We did hit a little bit of rush hour traffic in the middle of nowhere. There was a 2WD Dodge that took a wrong turn, and had a couple flat tires.  It slowed us down some, but over all a great day. Trip took about 6.5 hours to get to CK.
Short video that Wade took.

The Red line is the normal back way to CK.  The yellow pins are all the planned stops.

One of the many corrals we came across.

One of the graves.

I have the gps route for this trip.  If you need it, or any other information let me know.

Its kind of a weird story.  The owner of the truck and his wife where following their GPS directions, which send them down the wrong road.  They ended up getting two flat tires.  They spend the night in the truck, and hiked 3.5 miles the next morning.  When they had cell service they called for help and where air lifted out. The  truck was down there for 5 days. Lucky for us they where back to change the tires and continue to get the truck out of the wash.  Wade helped them  by letting them use his air compressor and by winching their truck out of the sand.
