It's SNOWING in Flagstaff (again)
« on: November 10, 2015, 02:21:01 PM »
Took the family sledding at Wing Mountain last Saturday, and up to Snowbowl, then Williams..
(Still in love w/ my KO2s btw, they handle great on snow/ice)
Anyone going/gone up from the valley to play?

Trooper, not sure how much snow fell last night..
Chuy- My family and I have been staying at the Christopher Creek Lodge for decades. It's great for couples or families w/ young kids anytime of the year. They have a good variety of accommodations from motel rooms to "bunkhouses" and freestanding cabins. They have a sister property too "the Grey Hackle", just up the road if the lodge is sold out.. When staying in Flag, for a cabin, I recommend the AZ Mountain Inn / Cabins (dog friendly too) or for something more refined, the Sonesta ES Suites. If you're around Strawberry, the Cabins on the Hill are great too w/ nice owners on site.
We have 8 or 9 tents and a shit ton of camping equipment for every season, but sometimes the wife likes a roof and running water..

Awesome, thanks DBAX. I have heard a lot of good things about the Christopher Creek Lodge.

I have stayed at christopher creek also. Its awesome its a pretty cool place.

Idk if its something you like or if you have kids taht would like it.

but we went goede hunting (the crystals inside of rocks) there is a place that has hundreds of them everywhere. We had a blast smashing rocks and finding some cool stuff that is now in our house as decorations.

Sometimes it pays have Mondays off..
I drove up Sunday night and camped.  I did a night hike with a friend, then did a longer hike the next morning.
It rained and snowed most of the night and all day.
KO2s did well. I didn't have any traction issues.

Pretty good chance they'll be booked, I'd call ASAP. Have fun either way  :)
