  • PitSnipe (Kyle): Wow, I have not heard of this issue. 15 hour job for a $50 part is nuts. Hopefully someone that knows of this issue will speak up.

  • downs44: Got an 06 that just went through SMOD. Got everything replaced. Now my low oil pressure light is flickering on after the engine warms up and the truck is at idle. Doing some digging on the forums it looks like a common problem is the rear timing cover gallery gasket leaking and causes the symptoms. Looks like a 15 hour or so repair for a $50 part. Was wondering if anyone else has had this issue and any words of advise. To save some dialogue, the oil pressure sensor is about a year old and I changed the oil and filter after i noticed the light and that did not fix the issue.

Awesome Tim!!!  I'm getting pumped for this year's cleanup.  I'm bringing my trailer and a bunch of bags.  Our group is ready for the challenge - give us your worst site - we can do it!!!

I'd like to recognize and give thanks to our brothers and sisters at SWANKy (SouthWest Area Nissan Klub yota) and ONAZ (Offroad Nissans of AZ) - this will be the third year that they have joined us in the cleanup efforts at 4 Peaks.

In the past, we've had everyone meet at the Baja/Conoco Gas Station on the east side of SR-87 just opposite the Ft McDowell Casino (just a little bit north of the instersection of SR-87 / Shea).  I think we should meet there at 8:00am, so we can all convoy to the cleanup.

Historically, we try to get to the cleanup check-in point by 8:30, so we can sign in and get to our spot before the crowds start showing up.

CB Channel 17, FRS 14.0

I should be there a litte bit before 8:00am

Ditto!  Oh and if an "old man" named Roger approaches anyone that may get there before me, he is a coworker of mine coming along to help.

Was a great day, except for my camera giving me an error message and losing all the images of the xterra's all lined up early in the morning.
Hopefully Photorec will recover them.

A great day indeed!!!  Special thanks to everyone who made it out to the cleanup today.  I think I counted 18 trucks with AZXC, SWANKy, and ONAZ well represented.  As a group, we donated $135 to the cleanup effort, and I know many of you also bought shirts, stickers, etc.  Thanks again to all who donated their time and/or money to a really great cause.

BTW, I talked to Tim Huber at the end of the cleanup, and he said there were at least 400 people this year, but they haven't done the final count.  All four very large rolloff dumpsters were filled to the top.

It's always very nice to see all of you, I enjoyed taking part in a great endeavour with you guys today.

My little magnet invention worked great too.   I don't know why at least some of you aren't going to come out to a few days of AZ Run X.  Camp is 2WD friendly and is right at the start of box canyon.  Consider this a personal invitation to at least the party (ok every night is a party but....) on Friday the 19th...

Another great day with friends and fun! You guys are truly an outstanding group… all of you!

The trailer was a great idea! I know it might have been a pain for Ted to haul it home after, but it was fully utilized and most appreciated. Especially being in our “Special Spot” way back, across the river. It’s so hard for me to believe that we filled it… Thanks Ted!!!

And the gloves! I brought my comfie Machanix gloves to use, but ended up using the leather gloves donated by Cycle Gear. Boy was that a nice donation!  I got them really dirty, soupy and thorny by picking up wet soda cans in the bushes, digging glass bottles from the moist fire pits and picking up junk. I really appreciated this because I didn’t know how hard I was going to be on the gloves and I didn’t have to ruin my Machanix. So I will now keep both sets of gloves side by side hanging from my rack, ready to go.

It was great watching Stone get stuck in the river… and watching him get out and tip toe around the front of his truck to lock the hubs. And then zip on out of there. Thanks for coming out Stone!
And what was even funnier was finding a two wheel drive Ford Exploder bogged down in the middle of the river, watching him tip two around his truck… scratching his head. Ya, we towed him out… and then advised him to by an Xterra.

And the last bit of excitement… there was 5 of us trucks pulled over on the side of the dirt road, geocaching after the trash pick up…and racing on by was a white Chevy truck… and then more truck racing by, chasing it. Then on the Ham radio, we hear people calling out for help… “We have no cell service and we need the Sheriff, can someone assist?” The requester relayed the situation to someone back at Base Camp that got 911 on the phone, “We cornered a stolen truck… the owner identified his own stolen truck… we got him boxed in.” As we continued on down the road looking for more geocaches, I see commotion going on with a group of trucks in front of us… it was there was it was all going down. So we hung out a bit, listening to the Ham radio and hearing the story unfold. I guess this modified Chevy… with off road club stickers, was stolen back in October. The owner was out working the trash pick up and just all of the sudden sees his truck rolling on down the road… club stickers and all. In the end, the Sheriff made it out there and we were tired of watching. But it was all because of Ham radio and its operators…

What a wonderful day! Thanks to Tim Hurber and to all of you!

THANK YOU!!!! You guys rock! thanks in large part to your donation we'll be able to write a nice CHECK to Tread Lightly!!

Is it just me or does it seem like every one of your trucks is pretty built and good looking?! Jeez, making me feel bad.

It was a crazy day! After adding up all of the families that signed on one line, the folks down at Bush highway where the Forest Service dumpster was and conservatively estimating 30 or so people didn't sign in. We are just under 500 people again!
The great part is that so far the TRASH number are looking to be more than last year. How we find over 20 tons two years in a row is amazing.
When the final 2 dumpsters get dropped off I'll post up some hard totals.

Thank you guys. You are a great club, very organized and I'd buy you all a beer... if I could afford it.
 ;D

Special thanks to Tim Huber (SOAZ) for oganizing another great cleanup!!!  I'm anxious to hear the final numbers (tonage).

I have started a thread in the Pictures / Videos section:

http://azxterraclub.com/forum/index.php?topic=287.0

Is it possible to move the pictures from the Xcursion thread to the picture thread?  Or at least cross post them in the pictures thread?
