New guy sayin' HI!
« on: January 20, 2016, 06:55:13 PM »
As you can tell from my username, I'm George.  I've been living in AZ for 15 years after retiring from the military.  My wife grew up here; grew up camping and wheeling with her Dad (not always on purpose - just worked out that way).

I'm an Xtinkerer - I had an '06 X, and traded for a '15 Pro-4X, and so far, have added:
- CB (boring - everyone has one, right?);
- GRMS radios and charger;
- DashCam/DashMaps (great having google maps on the dashboard);
- Front bumper cam and monitor;
- Solar panel - 95 watts to charge my roof batteries, laptop, phone, or jump start the X (done it three times);
- Two invertors;
- Flood and spot lights in the grill;
- Air Ride lift to pick its ass up off the ground from the 200-300 lbs of crap in the back (tent, air mattress, sleeping bag, stove, cookware/bowls, toilet, shower, privacy tent, backpacks, water, chair, table, blankets, tarps, recovery straps, work light, etc . . . no kitchen sink yet, but I'm working on it . . . what can I say - I like to be comfortable in the desert);
- Step rails (my wife insisted and who am I to object?);
- Hep molle window covers;
I also had a refrigerator, but that didn't work out too well.
2015 Pro-4X with solar panel and inverters.  Skid plates.  Sasa Sliders. 2" rear lift.  ARB front bumper+10K winch.  OME front suspension. Front ground camera.  Dual independent mapping systems.  Three two-way voice systems.  Molle panels.

Welcome George, I hope you get the fridge thing sorted out, I have had my ups and downs with them over the years. It looks like you are more than ready for an overnight trip, I look forward to meeting you this weekend.
Roads? Where we're going, we don't need roads.

Welcome to the club!  Looks like you might be a candidate for getting your Ham cert if you're already tinkering with radios. Hope to see you this weekend at the kickoff run, if you have any questions feel free to ask!

My solution to the 'fridge was to give it to my son and resort to good ol' fashioned coolers and ice.
