Trip to Prescott and Senator Hwy
« on: February 06, 2016, 09:15:31 PM »
I typed and loaded all the images into a google doc for easier sharing and to not overload the server on this site. It was quite the adventure today and definitely not what we expected to run into. Also just as a not if you are planning a trip up Senator Hwy I would wait until the snow melts off a bit more, there was another truck stuck a ways further up the hill that the guy ended up just having to leave.

Cool trip, thanks for sharing. Looks like you guys had some fun driving in the snow and lending a hand.
Roads? Where we're going, we don't need roads.

These are the stories that responsible off roads do not get credit for. Everyone pulled together to save lives and everybody got home. This is what it is suppose to be.

Side note I noticed  the Sheriff did not have chains and the proper tires.

Good Job!
God Bless You and the others who made a difference!

The Sheriff was definitely ill equipped to handle the situation. He did have all terrains but no chains and the shovel he had was plastic, just not enough to break through the layer of ice under the tires.

We ended up throwing bark under the tires and filling holes in with flat rocks to give him some bite. To the elderly couples credit they did know to try using their floor mats for traction.
