I'm down with a dunes trip too.  Cinders would be fun.  The potluck camping trip would probably be more of an Expedition Portal thing (although I'm down).  I definitely think Sedona should be on the yearly event list (we need a new picture for the banner).

I think a trip to Tucson would be good.  There are some Nissans down there that would love to wheel with us.

Also, we could consider a run to Death Valley / Anza Borrego with the SCCX guys and girls.  That was mentioned a few years ago, but didn't happen.

Page / Lake Powell or the North Rim would be fun too.

C'mon people, let's hear your ideas - even if you can't make the January 8th meeting, let's hear your suggestions.

EDIT:  almost forgot about the chili cookoff.  We should have this at the Coves or Table Mesa - somewhere where we could make a day of it.

What about Florence Junction area, Sunflower mine (my nemesis), Saguro Lake.  Hasyampa (sp) River.  Shoot pick a trail in the pink trail book or the big trail book with blue on it and do.  They have all the rating there.  I am sure somebody has a gps. ::)

There is goneMOAB, perhaps an alternative Xcursion for those who can not make it up that far due to lack of time and money, I may or may not be one as its my intention to make it there this year if at all possible.

As far as goneMOAB goes it would be cool if AZ made a strong showing, but I say that without even knowing if I myself will be able to make it.

Monday I am going in to work to make sure that time period is cleared for my vacation, after that its just a matter of money as to whether I will be able to actually go.

May be that I have to not go to Moab and instead do something less expensive here in AZ, and it may be that there are plenty of us here in that same boat during that time period.

Its our full intent to go if at all possible, just got the Xterra back from ABC Nissan to fix a number of problems that crept up(save this for another post) and now that its ship shape I want to upgrade the suspension before we get up there.
We need to get as much money saved as possible as we have some dogs to kennel for the duration.
Its very much up in the air as to whether we can make it or not.

If we cant make it we will do something local with the others who could not make it up that far for that long but want to do something.

Could the map for the Four Peaks Pickup 2010 be enlarged so that we can read/see it?

Thanks
Mr. X

Hello Mr. X
Just click this link that has been listed for a larger map, well down the site.  The thread just below this one has info for riding in with others in our group with CB and FRS channels if you go solo.  Looking forward to seeing you again.   :)

Any of these sound pretty cool, if anyone wants to go to the castle hot springs resort here on the westside just for a quick trip, I've heard some interesting stories about it's past.

The back side of 4 peaks,  88 to Roosevelt lake and then dinner at the mining camp restaurant on the way home, good trip for families with kids?

Boy, this is a great list, AZBumblebee! It's stuff like this that makes me think that life is way to short, cause this list is really long. I'm going to keep the list handy and use it for inspiration.
You should take us to the Hot Springs Resort, that sounds like fun!  ;D

Darn I was hoping to draft a guide, I couldn't even find a group of Xterras at pleasant!   ;)
